Girls...I did it...I am changing docs

Probably sounds crazy, but after this last episode, even Chris is now on board with changing providers.  I was dehydrated(my pee was beyond orange and brown) and having real contractions and the OB office said to call the pcp.  Seriously?  The on call doc was great, but the office staff sux the big one...and there are 9 docs in that practice.  Only 1 of them is good.  What are the odds?
I'm okay..I went to the ER, got some fluids, went to L&D, got monitored, baby was perfect.  Contractions stopped after about 200oz of Gaterade.  Yummy stuff...NOT.

And by the way...who knew you could get that dehydrated in literally 4 hours?  You can!

But anyway, after that me & the hubs talked and we both felt that we could not trust this practice.  They have not listened to me at all the entire pregnancy and made me feel 2 inches tall when I've asked questions.  So...because the new doc is out on vacation the week of my next appt, we decided to keep that appt(and give them the request for records transfer that day too...I can't wait!!!!) and the appt with the high risk doc, and start fresh on March 1st with the new doc(at 31 wks!!!).

I already am in love with his office staff...they are so kind and were horrified at the OB's treatment of me.  So was the new doc, by all accounts when they asked him to take me on this late.  He sounds great, and I wasn't disappointed at all that I have to change hospitals too.  Changing from Dekalb Medical to Northside...not a big deal!  Northside is awesome.

I literally cannot wait and feel completely at peace with my decision, and wish I could have made this choice earlier.  I hope I'm not crazy...at least no crazier than usual.

Love ya'll all to pieces....Hope everybody and their babies are doing grand!!!  ~~Anne~~

Edited to add:  Yes, the contractions stopped before I went to the hospital.  The oncall doc told me to drink Gaterade and if they didn't stop soon, to go on to the hospital.  I drank the 200oz that night and they finally stopped.  Still completely dehydrated with a fever of 101 that would not decrease much even w/tylenol so went to the ER after being told to talk to my pcp.  Just thought I'd relay that in case there was confusion.  LOL

wow, 200 of Gatorade huh??!!  You were doing bad girl!  Glad you are feeling better and the contractions stopped for you.

I remember you posting some stuff about how your doc's office was being stupid about the glucose testing and the nurses were so rude to you a little bit ago.  GOOD for YOU for switching, you will be so glad you did.  This is one of the most special times in your life (having a baby) and you are also paying them to do a good job, so you want someone that you love- even if you have to switch docs during your pregnancy!   Plus, you'll need good post natal care, so it doesn't just stop there after you have the baby.  Good for you for sticking it to your old doc, they sounded rediculous!

Hit goal weight of 140 at 13 months out from RNY!! 130 pounds GONE!

I am so glad that you switched! Now you can enjoy the rest of the pregnancy and Chris won't have to beat anyone in the delivery room! lol

Awww Jackie!  I LOVE GWINNETT MEDICAL and live like a mile away...but I couldnt find an ob that delivered there....so Northside it is.  Its farther away...but I just have a really good feeling about Dr Brad Moore.  Heard anything 'bout him?

No, I don't know anything about Northside doctors.  What insurance do you have, it seems we take almost all kinds there.  I go to a group out of Eastside if you want to find a closer group.

I can't believe some doctors.  I think they forget that THEY work for YOU.  I wish I would have switched doctors last time, but I didn't.  This time, I think I have found a good one, but if I find down the road that he isn't, I'm high-tailing it out of there.  I think having babies is too big a thing to leave it to someone who thinks you're just a number, and has a blah attitude about your concerns.

GOOD JOB!!!!  I'm happy for you, and hope your new doctor has his head out of his....
