Food Question
Hi
I was driving back home from dropping my children off at school and I got thinking about my pregnancies. I had lots of trouble eating and drinking in my first trimester everytime I have been pregnant. Meds for me up chucking all the time and needing to go into hospital to get an IV for fluids. I would lose between 20-30lbs in the first 16 weeks. I hate the smell & taste of all meat while pregnant too.
After having WLS how has everyone else handled "morning sickness" and if they have a disliking towards meat? I was thinking about getting in the right amount of protein.
Many thanks
Crystal

Frankly, it just wasn't possible for me. I was a vegeterian this time around in the 1st trimester.
I am actually losing hair this pregnancy because I still can only handle certain meats.
I know I need to add a protein drink but it is hard to drink for me too.
If you can handle a whey protein drink, I'd say go for it.

Since my RNY I cannot tolerate any type of meat- I upchuck every time. Since becoming pregnant I can handle ham though. Strange. So I have ham almost every day. Protein drinks are a different story- can't do them. Some protein bars I can tolerate, but not all the time. I have just been really careful to get my supplements in and plenty of liquids. My twins are measuring ahead and doing well. I think it's tough- luckily I am not losing hair or anything, but my protein is nowhere near where it should be. You do what you can I guess. Good luck!
