Valentines Day Help????

This year we are completely stumped on what to do.  I feel this sense of urgency because it will be our last baby-less V-day.  We have our hospital tour earlier in the afternoon.  I kinda wanted to stay in and for us to make dinner together.  Does anyone have any good recipes, like appetizer, dinner, side dish, dessert that is kinda fancy or special??

We're not going to buy each other anything for V-Day. We're going to make each other stuff instead....homemade cards, homemade gifts.....probably dinner made together. This is just gonna be one less day that we are not going to contribute money for another commercialized holiday! LOL

Sorry I don't really have any good recipes. Just why don't ya'll fix your favorite foods? Even if they really don't go together? I mean, on just one day of the year you could have potato skins, lobster and pumpkin pie for dessert.....and those 3 things do NOT go together.....LOL But if they're your favorites, fix em' together and enjoy! It'll be something to talk about at least for years to come.

My husband and I are not big on buying on V-day...but I can def understands you wanting to do something special on the last one before the big arrival.. As far as food, perhaps think of something that he really likes, but won't think you will think of, something out of the ordinary for you to make...perhaps his family would know of one of his favorites from childhood, etc.  As for gifts, Hallmark has come out with new card that you open and it has a CD in it...my plan is to make one for my husband with the babies ultrasound pics and some of our wedding and his other daughter (previous marriage)...so that's a thought....

We are just staying in too - and I'll make a nice dinner. I was thinking some surf and turf of some sort. Not sure about dessert yet - Chris isn't a real big fan of chocolate - he prefers white chocolate I am going to have to get creative!

We haven't really decided what to do.  My husband will probably have to work on V-Day, but he has the day before off.  We are going to go see his g-pa to celebrate his b-day because he is 99 YO.  We have discussed going out, but nothing is for sure.  On Sunday, after church, I am going to fix steak and sides.  I am not sure what sides yet.  I was thinking about what my husband would order if we were to go out.  I thought I would fix that for him and then make his favorite dessert.  He knows we are having steak so he is excited.  Maybe like someone else said fix your favorites or fix a favorite that you don't get very often now, which means you may not get very often after the precious LO gets here.
