walking
The peds like to see them walking by 15 months or they consider them "delayed". If he's not walking in a couple months, consult his pediatrician but it sounds like he's doing all the right things and will start walking on his own at anytime. Plus, boys generally walk later. Here's when our children walked:
1st child, boy - 13 months
2nd child, girl - 10 1/2 months
3rd child, boy - 20 months (yes he had developmental delays. He didn't crawl until 12 months due to a VERY large head (off the charts)...he couldn't hardly get it off the ground, poor baby!)
4th child, boy - right after 1st birthday....like 12 1/2 months

I thought Ethan would NEVER walk!! I talked to his ped many times, and he asked if E was a fast crawler, and he was like lightening. The ped said fast crawlers are slow walkers because they're smart. They know they can get from here to there in 2 seconds, or they could try to walk and take 2 minutes, so they crawl. I never looked at it that way before, but it sure made me feel better. He also didn't have any other delays. He finally took off at 17.5 months, and now he cruises all over. Kids just do things on their own time table, and generally, they're fine. Now if we could just get the rest of his teeth to come in....
My 1st daughter walked at 13 months, my 2nd one at 15 months! From everything I have read and heard, they say that dr's don't usually get involved as far as developmentally until they are 18 months old. I would give him some time, especially since he is cruising along furniture. If you are really concerned, talk to his dr.
