Thanks Emily! I totally understand that and wouldn't want them to do anything against medical advice. These are just my preferences I guess is a better way to put it. I will talk to my OB at the next appt.

Good Morning, Liz!
There are a lot of opinions on birth plans, but I can tell you that ours was vital and sooo valuable. I had a lot of strong opinions (probably not too shocking - ha!) I can send you a copy of mine via FB if you want to see it. I think its a good idea so that everyone knows your needs as there are shift changes and you will probably see lots of people on your birth team throught the process. It can help lessen the pressure on your DH, too, as he won't have to try to remember it all if you have it written down. :-)

Thanks! You can send it FB or my e-mail is [email protected] - whatever is easier. Thanks for sharing it! I know I like to be fore-warned of things and I just figure that the nurses would like to know what I am thinking. I know I am not going to be in the best state of mind at that moment in time.

Thanks again!

I had a birth plan.  It was nice to be able to talk to Jon about things before the birth.  I didn't want pain meds....ended up getting them since I had a c-section.  I wanted to breast feed too but my hospital wasn't good with education....I tried really hard but  it never worked out.  I think I pumped every 4 hrs forever!  But that wasn't till I got home....in the hospital I was never given a pump, very bad exp.  But you are going to Doylestown and they have an EXCELLENT breast feeding teacher.....I consulted with her not long after I had Logan.  Lynn Mcnair.........very nice lady!  Good luck with everything, I am soo excited for you!

My hospital fills out a sheet when you get there breast or bottle meds no meds? Etc. I walked in said I want IV meds, Epidural anything you got bring it on so I signed everything very early. I said I wanted to BF and I did almost immediatley they were stitching me up I was feeding. She left me for about 30min to get clean and warm and back to mama forever!, she recieved no formula and on day two I and only I was in possesion of the binky I would okay hubby to give it here and there when she had sucked for an hour and that was all I could take! I also only used nuky pacis and playtex bottles. less nipple confusion IMO for her anyways. I would just say this is what I want period then like you said health comes first! Good luck. One nurse wanted to give formula I said would like Dr Jones to come in? Then take your formula somewhere else! My dr is like the BF Goddess and wants all babies to BF if possible I also put a card in her crib "I want Mama's Milk Thank you any questions please refer them to Dr. Jones." It was bright orange too my dr gave it to me to put in there.
