A TMI question for all you ladies
Okay so I go for my 6 week check-up tomorrow and I am sure everything is good and healed down there. I had a level 2 tear and some stitches. I am anxious about getting some action but am VERY scared too. Where any of you guys scared and if so how did you get over it? Was "it" weird? Did you guy say you were looser? So just wanted to know b4 we do this. Thanks
Jessica

I had a level 4 tear with my 2nd baby (so I basically tore all 4 layers of skin down there- ouch!) and waited to do anything with hubby till after my 6 wk visit, especially after my IUD was put in at that visit. And for sure after having two babies now and not sure if it's because of how much I tore with #2, but I am for sure a lot looser than before I had kids. It sucks!
With my first baby, I tore a little and was fine to DTD with hubby at like 3-4 weeks out. But with this last baby, I was so scared of tearing the stitches and being so sore that I wanted to wait the full 6 weeks. I was still kind of sore and hubby had to be gentle, but boy was he glad to finally get some after that long (lol)!! Now me, my sex drive didn't come back till I was about 2-3 months out from having my daughter. I felt like a milk machine feeding the baby every 2-3 hrs, was tired, and had to be on meds for PPD for 3 months until my hormones balanced out (and a side effect is decreased sex drive)- so sex was the last thing on my mind really!
I'm going to have an episiotomy with this baby, to try and avoid tearing so bad again (doc is going to cut a little to the side of my scar tissue to try and have a clean cut when the baby comes out). My doc wanted me to do a c-section because of the bad tear with #2 but I told him I wanted to try an episiotomy before any major surgery and he's ok with doing that, so we'll see!
GL to you and have fun! Make sure you are using birth control too so you don't get pg again too soon or again before you want to! We are usually much more fertile once this weight is off and can get pg much more easily!

I don't know myself yet, but my sister swears by the kegel exercises saying that if you do them every day after you have the baby and are up to it things will tighten back up no matter how much of tear is made. She has 3 kids so I hope she's right!
