Do you ever just wonder....

So last night around 2:30 am...my lil one was just kicking the crap out of me...she kept me up for about an hour...which made me just lay there and wonder....

Do you ever just picture what your lil one will look like?  My husband and I are an interacial couple which to us puts a lil extra spin on things.  When we are out and see couples with children (esp mixed couples)...we compare to say to see if that's what our lil lady will look like.  My husband is very light skin for a black man and I am a very olive skin tone....he also has no hair now, but from pictures as a kid...he had some curls to that hair...where I have flat straight thin hair....He has a daughter from a previous marriage who's mother is white (but has hispanic in her) therefore her hair is a combination of many many many traits, and even though her mother is very light pale skin...Jas is darker than her dad...so as for us...we just day dream about what she will look like...

Anyone else think about this?  Day dream about their lil one....not that any trait would ever matter...it's just the mystery of it all...

Just curious and thought I would ask.....

Have a wonderful evening!!!  And dream away

Of course...but it is like a lottery with a zillion combos possible....
My Mom is Moroccan but dark skinned...think Oprah...and my Dad is fair, white....but with American Indian in him....I was born with red hair and very fair and got darker over the years. My husband is 100% Moroccan and he has very dark olives, olive skin, and black hair, and our son, Emad, was born very fair and also with red hair like me. He does have our curls though...and my nose is a dominant nose. But then there is my brother, who is black, (1/2 bro) and his wife has blonde hair and blue eyes and their kids are the most beautiful caramel color with brownish blond hair and gorgeous hazel eyes....miracle and mystery all in itself.

Oh yea! I think about it a lot! Especially when being kicked at night lol.

I am VERY fair skinned with red hair (think Annie when I was little) with curls. My hubby has a medium to fair skin tone and was blonde and anything as a kid but has darker brown hair now. I have had several dreams about a light skinned girl with red curls and about a little boy with brown hair and his Daddy's blue eyes. Of course we're happy no matter what but it is so fun to imagine! We don't know the sex of the baby either so that broadens the horizons even more.

So fun! Can't wait until we get to meet our little ones and see for ourselves!

Yes, we think about that too. My husband and I are both black yet the combinations within our families are so vast. My mother was very fair skinned with freckles and my dad was very dark. I am more like my dad. My mother's mother was Cherokee Indian and so there is just a wide variety of possibilities. My dad use to tell me to marry someone who was white because if I married a man that looked like him we could still have a baby that looked like my mom and my husband would go after the mail man...I'm sure he was kidding, but you never stop wondering what features the baby will have until you see him.

Totally!  Like you, we are an interracial couple as well.  My husband is what I would call light skinned to medium toned, and his whole family is that way.  There are some definite red heads in that group, not to mention alot of green eyes and blue eyes and even some gray.  My family, is a mix of Scot-Iri****alian and Portuguese...so there is no telling what Ms Lady is gonna look like.  I totally wonder, and dream about her.  I have had several dreams where she has light brown skin and startling green eyes.  When I told my hubbie this, he just stared at me, and I was like, "what?"...."Thats what my grandma looked like".  I didn't know...I have never met her.

lol... both my hubby and i are heinz 57 as they say... me - german, irish, english, polish, chezc, american indian nothing really more so than the other.... hubby - irish and puerto rican mostly he has someothers in the mix but those are the most dominant. I look like i am right off the boat from poland and have very european features with the blonde hair and the blue eyes. Hubby looks italian though hes not a drop.

I remember when my son was born saying holy crap he looks just like my husband! Now at 3.5 DS looks like hubby when he was little except with my hair color.

I am assuming hubby has the most dominant traits... but hubby and i were just talking about this last night. how we both have people in our family with bright red hair, so anythings a possibility.

I wonder the same thing.  We are adopting twins and I constantly wonder what they will look like.  I am student teaching and I look at all of my students and wonder what our babies will look like.  The birth mom is a brunette with a blue eye and a brown eye and the birth father is blonde and blue eyes.  I am dark hair and brown eyes and my husband is blond and blue eyes.  I have also been wondering what the baby I am carrying will look like.  I am just as curious as you are but only have 10 weeks to wait on the twins and 8 months to wait on this baby.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, my grandpa asked if she would be born with a suntan- I am very white- British/French. My husband is Hispanic and is quite dark, although the women in his family are lighter. Well, my daughter was born with my brown hair and white skin, but his dark Latino eyes, which are so beautiful. People don't realize she is hispanic at all if they don't see her with her Dad. She can tan really good in the summer though, which will be a bonus for her in later years. Now that we're having twin boys I wonder about them too- I think they may be darker like their Daddy, but I don't know. It's a mystery!!
