My ER visit
Glad everything was ok! They got a lot of padding in there at 20 weeks. That's good for the baby and good for us Mom's who seem to "like" to fall during pregnancy! LOL I had a nice "trip" with my 2nd baby. Fell on a handicapped ramp (lovely) at 26 1/2 weeks and busted my left knee cap. It broke in half, shattered what would have been the middle and ruptured the patellar tendon. What an experience that was! Thank GOD I was thinking about the baby and my belly the instant I hit cuz I flipped myself over to my butt real quick so my belly didn't hit the concrete! It was scary but I knew that I didn't harm the baby in anyway.....thank God. Actually having the surgery to fix the knee a week later was scarier. I had to have meds to help the baby's lungs in case I went into labor during or after the surgery. Everything was fine, but that little "trip" landed me in the hospital for a MONTH and in a wheel chair and non-ambulatory for MONTHS to come. Gee, the joys of pregnancy!
Wow. That sounded like a really crazy fall. When I fell, I'm pretty sure I hit my knee first cause that's all scraped up, bruised and really sore. But looking back, I seriously don't even remember if I hit my belly or not and I think that's what freaked me out. Better to get checked and it be nothing, than to not check and have something happen.
