I know there's a list of blood tests that should be done during PG to monitor vitamin/nutrient levels but I can't find it anywhere.

I have my first prenatal with my PCP this afternoon.  Can anybody help please????

Thanks!

This is what Andrea had recommended for me

every 8 weeks.  Make sure they are getting at least the following:

ferritin, blood serum iron, hct, hgb, b-1 (thiamin), folate, b12, pth, and 0,25(OH)d

I also get B12 tested because it is notoriously low. You should be able to get a list or a lab slip from your surgeon for a complete metaboloc work up. Mine tests about 30 different things!

Good Luck

my bariatric doc said to have a full blood panel done every 3 months during the pregnancy.  He said he'd leave it up to my ob/gyn on what to test, since he specializes in pregnancy.   But some important ones to watch out for are iron and calcium levels I think.   I've had 2 done so far in the pg (and one more done in March before the baby comes) and they've been great so far!  I just had a hemoglobin A1C test done (instead of the glucose tolerance test) last week and they also tested my iron- and it was fine!  GL and congrats on your pregnancy!

Hit goal weight of 140 at 13 months out from RNY!! 130 pounds GONE!
