So the dr. believes it from gastric/TT...your opinion
I had my 28 week appt today with some questions for my dr on some weird feelings I have started having since last week...
So I am finally starting to really expand in the belly area causing a great deal of discomfort; almost like a bruised feeling to touch my belly. I ask the dr...her answered made sense, and that was my muscles were tightened during the TT; so it's taking some extra pulling to get them to loosen up. Makes sense...
So onto issue number 2...this has now happened twice...I have gotten this very tight feeling in my belly as if it is a balloon and someone is putting air in it....it gets so tight, it causes me to begin to dry heave; and then immediately go to the bathroom (business number 2)...and diarrhea...once it is over, my pain/pressure is gone and I feel okay again....
So the dr contribute both to the surgeries and the baby growing pushing on everything...
Her solution was to use heating pad to reduce the muscle tightening, and before going to bed or laying down take a gasx type med...
Any thoughts from the gastric experts out there...anyone else have these weird side effects? I can deal with the discomfort; I was more concerned of contractions etc. (releived that doesn't seemed ot be the case)..
They are now seeing me every two weeks...which makes me feel a lil more comfy...
Thanks in advance-Stacey

I see my surgeon on thursday I'll be sure to ask him about the "baloon feeling". I get like this from time to time but I blame it on bloating (I'm 23w 4d) I have had a few BH contractions - could that be it maybe?
I also get that gas bubble feeling and the baby presses on my pouch giving me an instant nausea feeling - as soon as baby moves it gets better. I still have a decent sized "muffin top" and I swear that everything is just pushing that up and it is pressing on my lungs and pouch.
Hope that you feel better and I'll let you know what my surgeon's 2 cents are too.

I dont really know anything about what you are feeling or why, but when you said a heating pad that made my jaw drop. I was told absolutely no heating pads or electric blankets during pregnancy, that it can hurt the developing baby. I was so sad to give up my heated blanket during winter this year! Lol. I hope that things get better for you. Could the tightening up be braxton hicks? Although i've never heard of them causing vomiting or anything. Please let us know hun! Will keep you in my thoughts!
Super proud mommy to Dylan, Owen and Sophia Brianne!
Thanks ladies...my first thought was Braxton Hicks, but the dr. seems to think more gastric related only because of the results...bathroom and throwing up/drive heeves....so i am not sure...As far as the heating pad, I ask about the same thing as far as thought you weren't supposed to...she said that in the first trimester it is very important to keep temp lower due to development, but I am far enough along that 15 mins ever hour or so is fine. She did say keep in on the mid level heat, not the hottest....
She did say if I just feel really out of whack to come see her sooner, not to wait two weeks, which I will do. I didn't mention before, but she was also willing to check my cervix; however, she warned me at this point in the game it might make it worse than better, so I opted out this time, since I don't think its "real contracts" ...
Anyways, thanks ladies!!

My OB and Maternal & fetal medicine both OK'd the heating pad on a med temp for 15 minutes every hour and said that the electric blanket was OK on medium heat too. I use mine everynight for about 1/2 hour to get me nice and toasty! Their "rule" was if your skin turns pink or you feel warm it is too hot.
This may be way off, but the symptoms are the same, apparently I watch way to much discovery health...there is a condition where the uterus gets an infection that can cause LOTS of pain in the abdomen as well as the other things you described. I would as for that to be checked, If i remember what its called, ill let you know, otherwise good luck!! I hope you get to feeling more comfortable!!
