Hey all...just checking in...still on the TTC journey.....no success yet...but I did not expect it to be easy....going to the RE next month after visting my regular OB....been trying the meds for about 6 mths now...just the provera, progesterone and supplements but will likely have to get back on the previous regimen that worked when we conceived Emad....for now just a wait and see....if it happens, it happens approach. Work, school, family, etc have had ups and downs so maybe just not in the cards...I trust that when it is time, God will let us know. Emad is doing well, and aside from the New Year's Eve visit to the ER for a split lip no other major mishaps...he is all boy...and a handful but love him more every day. He is talking more now...I think he has gotten past the confused phase...with English, Arabic, and French being spoken to him and he speaks a mix of both and even if not able to reply he comprehends most requests, in any language the direction is given in. We will be back in Morocco this year, and super excited about that as he has not been since he was 8 mths old and has not seen his Grandma from Morocco since she came to visit a year ago...he has changed so much since then....walking, talking, etc He will have a blast as he has 6 boy cousins and tons of aunts and other family members to spoil him. That is about it. I am mainly on FB now a days but thought I would update for those that do not visit. Here are some recent pics of my not so little, "little man", aka Monkey!

He's getting so big and what a cutie! I was wondering how the multi-language approach was going. Our little one will ge a little bit of Hindi, Gujarati, and English.

Good luck on TTC. Sending you lots of sticky dust!

Thank You. It requires consistency at best and his pedi said that most kids that grow up in multi lingual households are slow to start when speaking but later catch up and excel really well. For the most part the only English he gets is on TV and me and hubby both speak to him in Arabic, but I have friends who do one parent for each language which is how I grew up, Dad speaking English, Mom and Grandma Arabic...and it worked out well. For us, it is crucial, as we have lots of family in Morocco that we want Emad to be able to communicate with.

He is so absolutely adorable!!!! TTC is such and up and down journey and I love your attitude that it will happen when the time is right. :)

English, Arabic, & French?? WOW! You have one smart cookie on your hands! Who speaks French? My great grandparents were from France, apparently when I was little I could speak fluent French, but after they passed and we didn't use it much as a family anymore I lost the ability. I would love for my kids to know another language that is so awesome!

Keep up the good work Samara!! Good to hear from you and love the pics!

Thanks Dawn. Me and hubby both do, as well as the lady who watches Emad. French is the business language in Morocco so it is typically taught in grade school right along with English and Arabic. I took it in High School and college, hubby of course grew up with it. We do not use it often other than when we watch some shows and stuff, and it is mixed into Moroccan Arabic (Darija) as well. Standard Arabic is totally different. So, if all goes well he will speak 4 languages if you count the 2 dialects of Arabic. They say before 3 is the best time, little brains are like sponges.

That picture on the stairs says it all...a very mischevious grin if I ever saw one!

Good luck w/your RE appointment.  I have one today w/the new RE...they're supposedly going to do some of the hormone tests everyone else said was no point in doing (the FSH to start w/to see if they can tell how close to menopause I am).

Don't worry about the languages...at that age, they absorb it all, and down the road he'll be spieling out all the langues and picking up others to boot.  My son has been taking French for six years, three years of Spanish, plus learning Arabic from his father and my in-laws...and obviously speaks English too...and he can jump from one to the other in a snap of a finger and not get confused.

Always...him and his Daddy....2 peas in a pod!
The tests are such a pain but then again you think maybe this time they will catch something they missed the 1st go round! I hope they get an answer for you soon.

Samara,
Thanks for the update!  I'm just catching up from being gone from the boards for awhile.  Your little Emad is such a cutie.  And 3 languages!  I WISH hubby or I knew another language to teach to Ethan.  Childhood is the easiest time to learn a new language, and I think being bilingual gives people a leg up in many business fields.

Good luck on the TTC.  It stinks.  I hope that your docs find the right combination for you to make Emad a big brother soon!
