Hello all!!

I don't know if I am being paranoid, but I don't feel like I have been feeling as many movements over the past 24 hours, and I don't know if I should be worried or not. I am still feeling some flutters and the odd movement, but they don't feel as strong. I don't want to keep ringing my OB/Midwife incase it's nothing to worry about, I just feel really paranoid!! I am currently 27 weeks and 3 days...should I ring to be on the safe side or just moniter the movements??

Many thanks in advance!

Vicky

If you are concerned, then drink a glass of ice cold water, or if you can handle it, ice cold sugary something (preferably OJ -- the baby likes the sugar) -- but make sure it's ice cold as baby does NOT like the cold, go and lie down on your left side in the quiet.  No TV, no radio, no nothing.  Count for fetal movement for an hour.

If it's less than 10 times, then call your OB.

Idea is that baby will move away from the cold in your stomach, and if you give it sugar will wake up.

Also, they move less and less as you progress -- and if you aren't paying 100% attention you might miss it.  That's why no distraction.  Left side as that gives the most blood flow to the baby.
