OB update and creepy story
First of all, I had my regular OB appt today. I've been monitoring my blood sugars and they have been very low, like)2048 when I first!20wake up, never going over 80 all day. It's clear even now I do not have ges diabetes. However no one seems to be at all concerned with this low blood sugar. I thought 48 was LOW but my OB said there is really nothing I can do except eat every hour or two, which I've been doing. I also had to get my surgeons approval to go on the baby aspirin for the decreased blood flow to my uterus, since RNYers cannot take NSAIDS. So I started my Bayer baby aspirin with a protected coating to prevent ulcers.
This story is completely off topic but freaked me out so much I had to post. I went to dunkin donuts after the OB to get a dunkachino (yum). There was a man at the counter ordering, a woman behind him then me. As soon as I walked in the store the man at the counter started staring at me and smiling. At first I smiled back just to be polite. The people who worked there were taking a while getting his order, so literally the entire time he stared and smiled at me. Never taking his eyes off of me. The lady in front of me ordered at another counter, and when it was my turn to order, the creepy guy did not move and stood right next to me staring the entire time I ordered. I was so freaked out I could barley order my drink. He finally started to move over to another counter, and the lady ordering next to me whispers "Do not leave the store" I said "I'm not." He went to his car, a brand new Mercedes and immediately called someone. He sat in his car on the phone staring at me for about 5 minutes. The lady next to me goes "stay with me until he leaves, that was too weird" The guy finally starts driving out of the parking lot. The other lady walked me to my car and told me not to go right home. I went to walmart and hung out in there for a little bit. It was just too weird, I cannot shake the weird feeling!
Anyway that's my update..

so glad things went well!!
ANd yes 48 is low! MAybe you need a middle of the night snack? Are you trying to balance carbs and protein when you eat? My Dad has been diabetic for 20 years so I've learned a lot of blood sugar tricks! I suffer from hypoglycemia if I am not careful too.
That is just too creepy about the guy at DD! Glad that you were safe and didn't leave for a while.

I'm thinking I need to wake up around 2 or 3 and eat something. I was shocked my OB was not the slightest bit concerned about this. I have been extremely careful so IDK what's up! They keep telling me I need to eat more... ugh lol

48 is kinda low according to my drs....they want me to keep it at no less than 60....when I drop below, eating is the solution. If it is below 60 in the morning; I look at what I ate before bed. It appeared based on my journal if I only ate like a bowl of cereal at night (which used to be one of my favs before bed) I would wake up on the low side. Once I made my nightly snack a little more I have been able to maintain pretty well. When I go much below 55 I can really feel it and usually know before I even take it what the numbers are. Another reason the dr told me that it can drop if my placenta was growing, I couldn't control sugar with the food, but this only usually lasted a day or so....not sure if any of this helps, but I do agree the concern with low blood sugar doesn't seem to be on the top of the list like high bs does. Good luck! Stacey
PS...sorry to hear about the creep!

I have no clue re the blood sugar...but hope that some of the other advice here will help with that.
Re the creep...that's scary. You know he was acting weird if you weren't the only one noticing him staring. I'd have called my husband to just come meet me to get away from there - even if he's gone. I'm glad that the other women were there with you. Obviously you must have a freak magnet.

Mom to Khaled
Some men just find a pregnant woman to be the hottest thing they ever saw. I know I encountered some serious stares a few times, and it isn't like I was looking especially radiant or anything! Too bad he couldn't be a little tactful and had to be all creepy about it.
