Is there anything I can do now...

I have never been able to breastfeed and have kind of given up on it, but I'm thinking of giving it a final try with this one (my last child).  With the triplets they were in the NICU for months so I pumped all day and never managed to get more than an ounce at a time.  With my youngest daughter my milk didn't come in at all until a week after she was born and it wasn't much.  I don't know if me being a lot thinner this time will help...maybe being healthier I don't know...but I'll be reading this thread for some advice as well.

there is an herbal tea that I used called mother's milk. I am not sure what it has but it helps the milk flow. I got it I think at walmart in the pharmacy section, it may have been meijer.

According to my OB, drinking massive amounts of water won't really change anything. Drink to thirst or a little more than your normal amount and you'll be fine. A lot of people say that pumping between feedings helps, at least to get supply going at first. I had a lot of trouble making enough milk and I still can't meet all of my Rowan's needs, it did seem like drinking Mother's Milk tea a few times a day actually helped though.

Also, we love "Baby 411" - we refer to it as "The Manual" around our house!

I just remembered as well, the lady that gave me the recipe also told me her doctor told her to drink a beer at night to help with the milk production as well.

Just FYI...in case you wanted to know...lol

You can RELAX! I think stress causes so much more issues than people realize. Mommy being relaxed means a baby will sense it!

Always lay a baby to sleep on thier back.

Just call me when you have a question.......LOL. You have my number.

No amount of pre-reading will prepare you, and every baby is different. And under the cir****tances of no-sleep and exhaustion, you will forget half of what you read anyways.

Hugs!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
