Is there anything I can do now...

to help with milk supply later?

I would love to be able to nurse my baby exclusively at least until I go back to work (12 weeks). I know Shari has mentioned oatmeal, I almost always have a bowl for breakfast (at least 4 days a week), I drink 100+ ounces of water a day (24oz of decaf coffee too), I don't have any caffeine and very little sugar (at most 2 of those little snickers squares a day).

Also - are there any good books that I should invest in? I'd also like to get a parenting book - something that tells you the little "tips and tricks" for a first time Mommy. For example, how do you know on what side (back, side, tummy etc) to lay a baby to sleep?

Thanks ladies! This is all starting to feel so real now that I can really feel the baby moving on a regular basis (dare I say almost on a schedule!)

The book that I really like is what to expect the first year. I think it's very informative and helps with all those little questions.
I have no idea about the breastfeeding thing. I wasn't able to breastfeed my daughter. I'm going to try again with this baby, and hopefully it will work. So I'll be looking at this post to hear what others have to say about breasfeeding too

Hi Liz,
I have a recipe for lactation cookies...I never had to make them, but I have a friend who swears that it helped her and that they were good to eat.

let me know if you want it.

I believe it's the yeast... I remember reading somewhere that it can be used to increase milk supply.
