I know this has come as a shock to you...and you are entitled to feel however you do...but as stated by several other people...there are a lot of us who'd love to be in your shoes. I hope that you eventually get to a point where mentally you can accept, appreciate, anticipate and rejoice in your surprise miracle.  Even if you were high risk in your previous pregnancies and had hard pregnancies...obviously this one's not a hard one.  Yes...you do need to up your vits (I hope you've been taking them religiously since your WLS so that as the baby has been taking what he/she needs, you're not getting too depleted), add in the carbs again...and relax.  You will be fine.  Your baby will be fine...and you will learn to love him/her as much as your other children.

How did your husband take the news?  I'm sure it was as much of a surprise to him as it was to you!  Congratulations.

If you're this unhappy about having another child maybe you should consider adoption.  I'm sure there is a worthy family who would be overjoyed to raise this baby.

I hope you do get the support you are looking for.  You may want to consider the option of adoption afterwards, there are lots of great familys out there looking for newborns.  (many of them on this board!)

As for the weight gain, you are human, and I am certain that even if they would not admit it most of us worry about gaining weight, and mostly about losing it afterwards.  We work so hard to get where we are and the idea of putting pounds back on vs losing is a tough thing to deal with mentaly. I know I struggle with it and mine was a more than planed pregnancy. I just know that I took it off once I can do it again.

Good luck and  I hope that you find the peace and answers you are looking for.

Wow! I can't even begin to imagine!!! What a shock! From peeking at your profile, your hubby just deployed, too. I can see why you would be stressed! Take a few deep breaths, take your vitamins, and see your doc. You will be okay.

Oh Jewels, I hope you have people around you to talk with and who will support you.  I understand how you may have these feelings, I do  but you must embrace this baby now that you know (even if you decide to give this life up to someone who wants to be a mom more than anything else in the world).  It is not his/her fault that you had sex and conceived them.  I'm one of those people who believes the baby can feel what you are feeling  . . . so give this blessing a chance on being loved and happy.  This may be the boy to complete your family.

Don't know what type of BC you were on. With the RNY and its malabsorbtion, pills are NOT efficient enough - you would need to use a barrier method too especially early pre-op when malabsorbancy is at its peak.

Good Luck,
Leila
