Are you making anything for baby?

Just wondering what my fellow crafty mommys are making for their babies (or have made for their already born babies)?

I have a HUGE list of things I want to make, but realistically the nursery stuff is going to take up most of my sewing/crafting time pre-baby. Right now I'm crocheting a blanket and next week I start making the crib bedding/quilt. Then it's on to basket liners, diaper stack, decorative pillows, window treatments, reupholstering the glider, and all things nursery. Hopefully after that I won't be too miserably huge and will have time to whip up some fleece booties and maybe a matching outfit for my DD and the little girl on the way for when we get our pictures made.

I sooooo should've started sewing the moment I found out I am having a girl. I didn't get my energy and stamina bac****il the last few weeks and I've been too busy nesting like CRAZY to focus on anything else at home lol. The only reason my crochet blanket is halfway done is because I work on it while I'm on break and lunch at work.

Sooo whaddya makin??

I am working on a pregnancy scrap book with all of my belly pics and ultrasound photos. I am also making the curtains for the nursery. I have about 100 projects I want to do but know I won't get 1/2 of them done. I am also going to paint a mural on one of the walls. We are doing an "under the sea" theme so I'll paint all of the corals, seaweed etc and then I bought Finding Nemo decals to put on as well.

I also need to paint the cabinets in the nursery. I wanted to do a quilt but think that I'll wait to see if I have a boy or girl - especially since I'm due in May - not much of a need for a quilt in the summer!

My Mom was working on knitting a pair of booties for the baby this weekend while we were away. I don't know how to knit and well crocheting takes too much attention for  me! lol

I am crochetn a blanet for my lil lady.  I am not the best at this, but I love doing it....so it maynot be perfect, but it's from mommy, so I am sure it will be perfect for her....I am doing pink, brown, and white...what colors you using?  Also, I have begun a scrapbook for the baby and one for my hubby.  My hubby will be deployed for most of the first nine months, so I for Christmas started him a scrapbook and as milesstones come and go, I will send him updated pages.....

Enjoy your blanket making!  Stacey

I'm doing this one in cream with light pink ribbon. I'm not very good at crochet either and I had to start over because the pattern calls for this funky stitch and I kept skipping stitches (and when I started over I said to heck with the funky stitch and just went with a regular half double crochet) but in the end it'll be from mommy and that's what counts.

I admire other peoples scrapbooks but I just can't get into it. I bought a whole bunch of Creative Memories stuff several years ago with intentions of doing our wedding album.... literally everything I'd need from stickers to the book itself... and it's sitting in a pile of stuff to be put on ebay lol. My passion is fabric and yarn.

I was totally going to post this- I thought about it yesterday and didn't get around to it! I've got a lot of things I want to do too. Since I am having twins, it's double! I am a quilter myself, I enjoy hand quilting so I am making one of two cribsized quilts right now- My DH hates that the frames take up so much room because I am poor and can't afford the cool ones that fold down so I have to use the old fashioned style. Ah well. The only nursery related item I refuse to make is bumper pads- I tried with my daughter and they are really hard to do! So, I bought two sets that will match the rest on clearance. I also, as a side note added stretchy fabric to several pairs of pants that I already had so I didn't need to buy maternity pants- I figured I needed the money for other things. They work great and I can adjust how big they are as needed- especially since I am having twins. And they still have pockets, which regular maternity pants seem to lack, and I need pockets, especially at work. I have a lot of fun patterns, but we'll see what I actually fit in! Thanks for the post.

I am definitely planning on making a bunch of crocheted items (I have been an avid crocheter for 20 years and LOVE it). But I am not starting until I know whether we are having a boy or a girl.

If anyone has crochet questions, I might be able to help (0:

I also started crocheting... the minute I found out my baby was a girl.  Now, shes here & the 2 blankets I started are only half done! LOL... I'm going to finish them up while I'm out of work for a couple weeks.  1 is an adorable yellow, started when I didn't know the sex of the baby.  And the other is an awesome basket weave pattern with 6 different vibrant colors.  This blanket is big, and heavier.  Good floor blanket, so I've got a little extra time to finish cause my baby is to small for it.

Good Post! I love Crafty Moms!! =)
