Tingly / Painful legs at night - a question
I will call the Dr if this continues or gets worse but I have noticed at night my legs get very tingly and feel like they are falling asleep, to a point where it hurts. I sleep on my left side with a body pillow between my legs and supporting my belly. I change between my left and right side during the night because I get so uncomfortable and even spend some time on my back - it seems to happen if I am in any position for too long. Well yesterday on the way home from my Grandparents, it's about a 2 hour drive, I noticed that it started after an hour of sitting in the car (I wasn't driving).
Anyone have any ideas or suffer something similar? I see a chiropractor once a week because I do have lower back issues (herniated and decompressed disks),and I weigh 195 as of this morning. I was wondering if this is some kind of RLS or something.
Thanks Ladies!

It could be a pinched nerve. After I had my first child I had this problem and the doctors said I had a pinched nerve and inflammation in one of the lower discs in my back. I wish I had advice to give but the doctors put me on an anti inflammatory med, because I was no longer pregnant.
Good Luck,

When I was pregnant with Patrick at about the same time I started to have issues with my sciatic nerve. I had no idea what it was. At night if I laid on one side for too long my thigh would start tingling and then end up going numb. It was worse on the right side for me but would happen on the left side too. Once it started happening, it was quickly happening every night. To be honest it totally freaked me out. When I brought it up to my OB he said it was common and that it was sciatica. I don't remember how long it took to go away after Patrick was born but it did. I found it to be maddening. For whatever reason Patrick would kick me incessantly till I laid on my right side and then my leg would go numb.
I would bring it up to my doc (or your chiropractor) to confirm it is no big deal and then there may be some relief to it.
I am really hoping I don't have that issue again.

Yes - they took 12 vials of blood. Testing basically everything there is to test vitamin and mineral wise! I am chronically low on B12 and have a feeling that is part of the issue (I take 5000 mcg sublingual daily - but have a feeling I'll be back on shots soon), B1 has been low in the past too. They did draw D also.
I'll post the results when I get them. Had the labs drawn last wednesday - I should have them in the mail by the end of this week.
Thanks Andrea

If you are chronically low on B12 with that high of a dose, check to see if you are taking cyanocobalamin or methylcobalamin.
Some people have issues absorbing cyanocobalamin. The methylcobalamin is absorbed better by everyone, but is not needed by everyone. It might be helpful for you to switch, though, and may help you avoid shots.
