A Quick Update....and of course a question or 2
Hello Everyone!!!
First of all Thank You for all your kind and thoughtful words. I had a full Natural Miscarriage at home on Thursday, was checked out Friday morning at the OB's and things are pretty much back to normal. As of today I am only very light flow to spotting and no more cramps, etc. My results from my US confirmed that there was an embryo (knew this already as I seen it in the Miscarriage...I know TMI) anyhow, I am somewhat relieved to know that this was not another blighted ovum, it still saddens me that I lost this little one, but I am slowly moving on and hoping and praying that the next one has a much better outcome. We have to wait to try again after my next AF. I am back on the metformin (for PCOS) and when I get my next cycle I will begin the clomid again. Next time I will be staying on the metformin at least for the first trimester (hoping to stay on it longer, but the OB has so far only agreed to prescribe it for the 1st Tri). He also wants me to start the progesterone suppositories as soon as I get my BFP, as well as to resume the baby asprin at that time. Geesh!!!
I do have a question though, I take 2 Prenatals every morning with everything under the sun in them, should I start taking additional Folic Acid on top? I take 1000mg of Vitamin C, 600 mg of Iron Sulfate, 1500 Mg of Metformin a day, and a B12 Sublingual. I think that covers it....LOL
I am eager to start TTCing again and wish I did not have to wait for the one cycle. I already miss being pregnant. But I guess that is a common feeling when you Miscarry. Again I am so glad we didn't tell family and friends as I am finding it easier to cope this time because I am not embarrassed. I don't know how else to say it. I do know that it is not my fault and thngs just happen for a reason. I wish that I knew what went wrong to ease my pain, but I know I will never know the answer to that, so I must put myself together and get on with life and look forward to starting over again (the fun part...LOL) I am going to take even more precautions next time, DH has already told me that I won't be able to vaccum, cart the laundry down or upstairs, he already looks after the cats, basically it sounds like I get to be lazy for a good cause. The LO I take care of shall be walking soon so that will be another burden lifted. DH was great with that too, lifting her all the time and carrying her when ever we went out, so I didn't have too. Such a loving man!!!
Anyway I will be here checking in on everyone daily, and all the best to you all out there TTCing and Baking!!! Hope to join you all in the near future again!!!

Sounds like you're on track for next time. You've proven you can get pregnant so hopefully it will happen fairly quickly. For me it only took two cycles of "really" trying, as in DTD every night during the entire possibly fertile period and peeing on OPKs every day.
Getting the OB to at least agree to Metformin through the first trimester is good. I was fortunate that my RE and my OB were both agreeable to me staying on it as long as I wanted. I really don't know if the Progesterone helped but I'm glad I took it.
Keep us posted.

Thanks so much for all the info Sarah!!! My OB is a little skeptical about the metformin use, but hopefully I have put a bee in his bonnet and he will do his own research too. I have been to the library in hopes of aquiring more info, but with no such luck. Canada is way behind on these things...LOL I may just stock pile my metformin and get a big refill (repeats) from my fam Doc as I hardly see her, and just keep taking it through the 2nd trimester as well. Haven't decided for sure on that one yet. Lets just concentrate on getting pregnant first for right now.
I am so glad that you get to start TTCing after your next cycle. That's all I had to wait too. I miscarried in the middle of June, got the ok to TTC in July and was pregnant in August! Hope that it happens that quickly for you too! I was told to take an additional 800 mcg of Folic Acid ontop of my prenantals. I'd double check with your OB though.
