I am nervous, excited, scared, worried, happy, and anxious, about my apt tomorrow with Dr Abuzeid, he is a RE that I was refered to after my 3rd MC.

I am sure part of it is not knowing what to expect, but also part of it is a fear that he wont be able to help me.

I just needed to vent, I am also getting close to what would have (should have) been my first due date, which i am sure is also adding to the emotional toll.

Any advice on what to expect at the first apt with a RE?? That would be very helpful!!

Be prepared to have a transvaginal ultrasound.  I don't know if he'll do that or not but I was not prepared on my first visit to have any kind of pelvic exam and there it was!

Other than that, just relax.  This is a GOOD thing, not a scary one.

Good luck.

I know at my first appt, years ago she went over basically a complete medical/fertility history.  She also went over what tests she wanted to / would like to order and why on each for me/my husband and what the next steps would be from there.  I remember thinking when we left from from there that at least there was at least some plans.....it was almost a relief!

She ordered a bunch of tests for both of us.  Once everything was done/completed, we then schedued a follow-up to go over the results with her.

Hope you will get some answers!  Good luck!

Sending you hugs and hoping you find answers and solutions.  I can't remember a lot about our first visit--well paperwork--but I can tell you it's a process that takes time--there will be small steps, big steps, holding patterns and even some steps backwards.  It was all worth it--neither my sister nor I would have children without our RE.  Please let us know how it goes.

My RE did a consultation with hubby and I. He set me up to have a HSG on my next period (which you already know your tubes are clear becuase you get pregnant) and hubby had a sperm analysis. It was more talking about my history.

He did a complete medical history, I showed him all the charts I had been keeping. He said my periods were regular. I can't remember if he did an ultrasound. It depends where you are in my cycle and I believe he did one just to check the size and shape of my uterus and look at my  ovaries. He recommended IUI for me becuase of my age. So, after all the tests he said to call when I started my next cycle and then I did IUI.

GOOD LUCK! Keep us posted.

Just wanted to wish you luck. Keep us posted. I posted last week about my appointment. We just had a pretty long meeting about my cycles and history. Hope you get some answers.
