Im about 7 weeks and morning sickness for me is a 24/7 thing and has been for the last 2 weeks straight with no foreseeable end in my future.

I want to throw up so bad because I can't stand to feel sick but I am terrified of injuring myself due to my Realize Band.

Also I am only able to really eat crackers and I am terrified of all the carbs I am eating. I havn't gained anything yet but I am so afraid of what all these carbs are doing to my blood sugar. Basically I am totally freaking out and need some reassurance.

We go to OB to hear heartbeat for first time this thurs and I am planning on asking for anti nausea meds since I have tried EVERYTHING and nothing is working.

My next appt with WLS is in a couple weeks and they are going to unfill me halfway for the rest of pregnancy.

Any advice, words of encouragement, reassurance is most welcome as I am at my wits end right now.

I never had morning sickness (please don't hate me!) however, I had a miscarriage in February after I had been unfilled halfway.  Right after my miscarriage I got a stomach flu and was throwing up VIOLENTLY for 24 hours pretty much non-stop.  I was terrified that my band would slip but I had no problems at all.  I don't know what might have happened if my band had been at full restriction, though.

My only advice would be to call your surgeon's office and explain to them that you are struggling with terrible morning sickness and you really need to get that unfill ASAP.  Unless they are total jerks, they'll find a way to get you in sooner.

As far as weight gain, I was terrified of that.  When I had the previously mentioned miscarriage I gained 30 pounds before my band was back up to restriction.  I was really afraid that when I was unfilled this time, the same thing would happen.  I begged the doctor to only take out a couple of cc's but he insisted on taking me down to 6.5 in a 14cc band which for me is the same as being completely empty.  I can eat anything I want.  BUT, I have only gained a few pounds.  I'm eating a lot more than I was before but something in the preggo metabolism kicked in and I've been pretty much holding steady.  Try not to worry about that too much.

Good luck!

ask for some zofran and don't take no for an answer - I found sing the phrase "My surgeon would rather I not vomit at all" to be very helpful!

Don't worry about the carbs right now, this is temporary and it will pass and you can go back to eating healthier!

This is not to scare you but only to advise... I actually DID slip due to the morning sickness and it slipped so bad that my band had to be removed by emergency surgery when I was 31 weeks pregnant.

What I learned (a little too late) is that an unfilled band is better than no band.  Now I am trying to take the weight off on my own.
