Baby formula of choice...
After breastfeeding for about 3 months-we started with the Good Start...HATED it. Aethyn spit up SOOO much it was ridiculous! We tried adding rice to it...still didn't help! Then we tried the soy version...it helped a little but he was constipated. We ended up using the Enfamil AR and added extra rice to it. (He was on meds for reflux the whole time also)
I think it is just a trial and error thing! What works great for one baby could be terrible for another! Start out buying the smallest amount until you know...we ended up with a bunch of Good start that we ended up selling at a loss.

My doctor told me not to use Good Start because it was too hard for babies to digest. Not sure how true that is. We were using enfamil because that is what we got samples of from the hospital and I breastfed but once in a while had to supplement. When I stopped we bought Costco brand Enfamil and never had one problem with it. Our doctor said it was a good choice and it was $20 for 2 cans! Way cheaper.

Emma went through 4 formulas and was lactose intolerant. I supplemented my pumped milk (she never latched) with a soy based formula. When she was old enough to try lactose again we went with the costco brand. 2 cans for the price of one enfamil. Our dr. said the house brands were just as good as the name brands. With Micah he is pretty much exclusively breast fed, but I have given him some ounces here and there of formula just in case...to make sure he could switch if something were to happen to me. He does fine with the costco brand too. Shari
From all the responses it really seems that every baby seems to be individual..trial and error I guess. I used Enfamil Lipil with all of my four but only because it was what the hospital recommended and I didn't know any different. I was thinking of trying something different this time around just for fun, but I have no idea now lol. I had no problems with the Enfamil but it is definitely expensive.
I'll just keep reading the responses and figure it out one of these days :)
P.S. No one mentioned Similac Advanced...wonder why?

I used Similac Advanced Early Sheild only because that is what the hospital used and sent me home with 2 weeks worth. He did awesome on it. I did try the Good Start culture one and it made him vomit everywhere. It was a little cheaper so we thought to give it a try. Went right back to Similac and stayed with it. About $22 a can and it last maybe 5 days. We will use Similac with the new baby also.
I was always told not use store brand formulas and really never knew why.
It is trial and error. Every baby is different.
Good luck!

I breastfed both of our babies for the first few months and then put them both on Nestle GoodStart with DHA per their pedi. We first tried Similac (the blue one) with our 1st and it constipated her horribly. She also had wicked gas...until we changed to the nestle. The bubbles that form when you mix it disapate very quickly so when baby goes to drink it the bubbles are already gone.
You may end up trying a few different brands...or you can do one and be fine. It all depends on the baby.
