Recovering from childbirth/pg when you were heavier vs now?
For those of you who had kids pre op and were bigger, how does it compare to now? I was 215 when I got pg with my first and gained 35 lbs (so 250 when I delivered and I'm only 5'3"). With my 2nd child, I was 260 to begin with and gained 15 (so 275 when I delivered her). I had a hard time at the end of each pregnancy because I was carrying the baby, along with so much extra weight on my body because I was so big. This pregnancy has been a lot better and I love having a cute little bump!
I lost 130 pounds and got down to 140 (at my lowest) before I got pregnant this time. I was 143 when I got pregnant and am currently 160 at 28 weeks now. After I had my other two babies, I lost the pregnancy weight within 2-3 weeks after I had the baby, due to nursing, having no appetite, drinking tons of water, and major PPD (that I had to be on meds for a few months for- I think that it affected my appetite). I am hoping I get that lucky again this time too and lose the baby weight quick again (but taking measures to help avoid the PPD this time).
It took me like a month or two to get my energy back and it was really hard to bounce back after the baby when I was so big. I just wonder if my energy will come back sooner and I will have a better recovery this time after this baby because I am half the woman I once was. Anyone relate to this and how was your recovery pre op vs post op when you had your baby? I'm sure it'll be a lot better this time around but just wanted to see what you all have experienced. Thanks!!

I am 5'5".
I was 229 when I got pregnant with the first, 274 when he was born.
I was 304 when I got pregnant with the second and 324 when she was born
I was 189 when I got pregnant with Luken (my first post op baby) and 191 when he was born.
recovery (csection, my second) was a breeze. I was really scooting around well by week 2. I overdid it a ton because I felt soooo great. way better recovery post op for sure for me

I was never pregnant pre-op but I have to say that at 235lbs I had more aches and pains then I do now that I could go into labor at any moment! I can't imagine how tired and uncomfortable I would feel had I gotten pregnant at my pre-op weight.
I hope you have a wonderful pregnancy, delivery and a quick recovery! :)
I had 2 babies/c-sections preop and the recovery after WLS was by far the best. PPD was there with all 3, and I don't think weight has any bearing on that, but physically I was better with Everett's birth than Ethan or Emma. I lost a lot of weight quickly after Everett.
