Ok, so I am 32 weeks.  I have been laying around for the past two days doing pretty much nothing cause I am on bedrest.  No sex, no heavy lifting or anything like that.  Today when i went pee and wiped, there was a brownish, dark red snotty looking glob on the toilet paper.  Then when I went pee the next time, it looked like residue on the tp from that and after I wiped two more times there was absolutely nothing.  It was completely clean and clear after that.  Well now about 3 hours later, when i peed and wiped, again there is a very light color of brown (snotty looking) something on the tp.  Anyone have this or know what it is?  I have had very (very) mild period type cramping but I have had that for about a week and have been checked out twice and it was nothing.  Im not really worried i guess cause i dont want to stress out again since I just had the scare of the vasa previa, but just kinda concerned.

Thanks
Shannon

It sounds like part of your mucus plug.  Sometimes it can be tinged with blood, sometimes not.

Should I be worried or going in to get checked, or just keep an eye out?  I read that it can come out just before labor or even weeks before.  Do you know?

Just keep an eye on things.  You are right.  It really doesn't signal labor.  From what I've read, it can actually grow back also.  I lost a bunch of mine around 35-36 weeks and then nothing.  I'm almost 39 weeks and lost some more today.  This whole 3rd trimester thing is so varied for everyone that I don't think there is a true "normal".  Keep an eye on the cramps though.  Even though you've been checked twice.  If they get worse, atleast call the OB.

totally sounds like your mucus plug, mine was the same way.  Mine I remember was brownish and really mucusy looking (I was so grossed out! LOL) when I wiped.  I lost it with my first at like 34 wks and was fine (didn't remember losing it or seeing it with my 2nd baby).   I was induced at 39 weeks and everything was fine.  I have heard that you can lose your mucus plug up to 6 wks early and it's totally normal.  Just call your doctor or talk to the nurse and tell them you think you lost your mucus plug and what they want you to do.

Hit goal weight of 140 at 13 months out from RNY!! 130 pounds GONE!

I agree with the pp's.  Sounds like your mucous plug.  If it were me I would call your OB.  You are right, that it doesn't mean you'll go into labor anytime soon.     With you being on bed rest I would call and let them know what's going on.
