I just saw a commercial that Lifetime is showing a movie called "Pregnancy Pact" These teenage girls (I didn't catch if they said 18 or 16) all make a pact to become pregnant together! Certainly not something I would want my teenage daughter to watch (if I had one)

Oh and the ad shows 6-7of them with big preggo bellies.

Here is what it said about it online

About the Movie

"The Pregnancy Pact" premieres Saturday, January 23 at 9 pm et/pt.

Inspired by a true story, the film explores the costs of teen pregnancy with a story of a fictional "pregnancy pact" set against the backdrop of actual news reports about teen pregnancy from June 2008. Sidney Bloom (Thora Birch), an on-line magazine journalist, returns to her hometown to investigate the sudden spike in teenage pregnancies at her old high school. Almost immediately, she comes up against Lorraine Dougan (Nancy Travis), the head of the local conservative values group and mother of Sara, a newly pregnant 15-year-old. Meanwhile, the school nurse (Camryn Manheim) tries to convince the school to provide contraception to students to address the pregnancy epidemic but is met with great opposition from the school and community. As the number of pregnant girls climbs to 18, a media firestorm erupts when Time Magazine reports that the rise in the number of pregnancies at the school is the result of a "pregnancy pact." As the mystery unfolds about whether or not "the pact" is real, Sidney soon realizes that all of the attention is disguising the much larger issues that are at the core of the story

I think that whole story was made up.  Nobody has ever admitted to this "pact".

I remember when that was in the news awhile back.  I don't think they were able to prove the pact but unfortunately teen pregnancy is a very real problem in most high schools.  At the high school where I teach, the pregnant teens show off their bellies and all their friends think that it is cool.  I've talked frankly with a few of the girls that I have worked more directly with and told them to let their friends know that it isn't all fun and games.  Pregnancy wrecks havoc on the body and these girls need to know this.

My high school friend is actually in that movie.  It was a true story where these girls in a new england state (i cant remember which state) made a pact to get pregnant together after the one girl got pregnant.  they actually based a law and order svu episode off of it.   i'm gonna watch it.

This is a true story. There were 18 girls aged 16. Crazy, how they decided they wanted to get pregnant and just did like that.
