What's up with the number of hits on some posts?

Have you all noticed that some posts have extremely high number of "hits"?    Strange.

I noticed that ealier.  I couldn't believe that some were over 7000!  That's a lot of hits
Also... what happened to all of our tickers!?

I was thinking maybe someone posted a link to the post or the picture to Facebook or something that got a bunch of hits...

But my post from today is one of them and *I* didn't put it out on Facebook or something like that...

So maybe it is a weird looping thing.  In the 5+ years on OH I have never seen it happen like that before the last few weeks.

lol you don't think that one post has 10000 people that have read it? It is random but some are getting crazy high numbers.
