Swelling in the unmentionables.....

So, I posted a few weeks ago thinking that maybe I had a yeast infection that was causing a little vaginal swelling- No yeast infection, just vaginal swelling caused by the fact that I am carrying twins, work on my feet all day with few chances of sitting, and this is not my first pregnancy. It's really uncoomfortable- It gets really bad toward the end of a shift normally, but sometimes, like today, I was swollen all day and just wanted to sit! So, what is some good advice? I've googgled and all I find are more explanations as to why I have this problem, but not anything practical that I can do about it. My OB suggested a pregnancy support belt, which I have already been wearing for a month now because I sometimes have to bend over and it was hurting before I put on the belt, so that can't really help the swelling anymore I suppose. What else? I have to keep working- My goal is to hit mother's day. I would settle for the end of April before having to take a leave- I need some advice!!

My doctor actually prescribed a muscle relaxer for me that helped with it.  I was hesitant to take it at first but checed it out on safetus.com.  I found it to be a class B and it has provided a huge relief for me.  My swelling was so bad I could barely walk.  He also had me take it last week for muscle spasms in my back.

Carrie,
I feel your pain.   I've been having this problem since around week 24 or 25.   At first it was only when I was on my feet.  Now it's when I've been sitting for a while too.   Some mornings I wake up that way.   I know I walk funny, but I can't help it lol!

I called my OB when it first happened and they said it was just a normal part of pregnancy.   At least my feet are swollen too!

Can you talk to the people at work to see if there is any way you can sit down every so often. I don't know what you do, but I am sure they would make concessions, especially if you had a doctor's note.

Good luck!
