Need info
Hello there. My name is Carlise. I had RNY on 11/24/09. My husband and I plan on TTCing next year (2011) after my 18 month mark. This will be easy as he will be deployed. I just wanted to know what a pregnancy is like after WLS. I have been pregnant before, but that was before WLS and I was heavy then and had Preeclampsia. My Surgeon and my OB/GYN both said my weight loss will make a huge difference. My Surgeon said as long as I eat healthy and take my prescribed Prenatals, and other vitamins, i shoul dhave a healthy baby and still maintain weightloss after I have the baby. I just want to know other experiences. I want to have all my ducks in a row, so we can start trying as soon as DH comes back from Deployment. any advice would be helpful. Thank you.
First, thoughts and prayers headed out to hubby for his deployment.
I was told to start taking prenatals and folic acid 6 month before TTC (trying to conceive) so that my body was ready.
This is my first (successful - lost a baby at 11 weeks) pregnancy but so far everything seems to be "normal". I am almost 3 years out, down 140 pounds (pre-pregnancy) and baby is growing right on scheudule!
GOod luck!

Hi ! Im Heather, I had WLS in 11/06 and I just had a baby 9-21-09. My pregnancy was very healthy. My midwife just did extra blood work, and additional US to monitor growth. I did become anemic and had to do a liquid Iron because she thinks I wasnt absorbing the pill form. But other then that everything was fine. He's healthy and happy little boy!
Now to just get off the last 20lb I gained !! grrr :-)
Good Luck !
