Weird Pregnancy Changes...

I doubt these are in any baby book.

- Brushing my teeth makes me gag (both pregnancies)

- I am obsessed with old sitcoms like Cheers (both pregnancies)

- I need to be out in the sun every day or I get restless legs at night (this pregnancy)

Any weird changes for you?

Brushing my teeth also makes me gag (and it did last time too).

I don't know how you find time to watch ANY television....I'm impressed lol.

I think I have RLS too (didn't have it last time).  Too bad there isn't much sun in East TN right now.

I'm also experiencing insomnia (partly because of the RLS).   The only place I can sleep is on the couch.   Before the bed was the only place I could sleep.

I'm sure there are more weird changes that I'm just forgetting.

smells really bother me... esp poop... i instantly puke

i have a funny taste in my mouth 95% of the time... so i always have gum in my mouth... which intern makes me puke

im obsessed with medical shows... even ones that dont involve child birth

brushing my teeth does me in too - it did get better around 13 weeks but I still have to lean forward and brush quick lol

I wish the sun was helping my legs - actually I think I hve restless body, I lay in bed at night and can't get snuggly (I know just wait..)

The cold is REALLY bothering me - I can't stay warm of course it is 20 degrees and windy out

Oh and I'm ITCHY!

RLS can be attributed to low levels of both D and B1.

Considering sun helps, I'm guessing you might be deficient in D.  Is your OB testing your D level?

We haven't done that bloodwork yet.  Next week.

No harm in taking an extra calcium + D in the meantime though.

my issues surround sleep

- cant get to sleep.... i lay awake watching lots of forensic files, but i am exahusted...

-cant stay asleep.... i wake up several times each night... like wide awake... not just an i gotta pee and get back in bed awake... usually take about 30 minutes to settle down again

-wake up early.... no matter what time i go to sleep at 7am my internal clock wakes me up no matter how exhasted i am (this is ok as toddler wakes up

hubby says baby is just getting me ready to be waking up at all hours again... i just wanna poke him in the eye cause no ones getting HIM up all night long...

I can't comment on the restless legs...but I can add re the brushing your teeth.

What type of toothpaste do you use?  When I was pregnant w/my son (who's now 14 1/2), I had to switch to Crest toothpaste - which I despise - because Colgage made me puke.  When I mentioned it to the nurse in my dr's office at the time, she said she'd had the same thing and had switched to Crest for her pregnancy and was fine.  So whether you're using Colgate or some other minty flavor - try switching it up until you find one you can tolerate.

Wow, smart.  I am not brand loyal but my husband will only use Colgate.  I'll get some Crest for myself and let you know how it goes!
