New to this board...
First of all hello everyone! I'm new to this board!
I had two positive pregnancy tests (12/28 and 12/29). The earliest I could get in to see my OB/GYN was 1/14. My pregnancy was not at all planned and came as quite a shock as I've been on the pill steadily. I believe I could be anywhere from 1 to 3 months pregnant. I skipped my last period completely and the two before that were one day of VERY light spotting.
I have diabetes, high blood pressure and severe asthma and am on several prescription medications. After my positive tests, my PCP had me discontinue Advair and changed my BP medicine from Prinizide to Acebutolol. From what I've been reading, I will most likely be on insulin shots throughout my pregnancy. I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for this.
I am still in shock and praying that nothing I did before I knew I was pregnant had any effect on the baby.
I'm anxious to know more and needless to say I am counting down the days until January 14th!

Welcome...congrats. Insulin isn't so bad. It will be important for you to stick to the diabetic diet for your health and the baby. Are you taking prenatals? Get on those right away, even before seeing your doc. Good luck and keep us posted okay. If you need help with the diabetes I have some experience there and you can pm me okay. Shari
Congratulations. I hope the dr is able to put your mind at ease regarding the meds you are taking, and find good alternatives for the necessary ones.
Welcome to the board...and don't be afraid to come ask questions. There's a lot of women with a wide variety of experiences here.
