Gas Issues

Maryn has major gas issues.   I want to try something like the Mylicon.   Anyone have recs for which one works better?  Mylicon, Little Tummy?

I also saw a product called Colic Calm which is supposed to work for gas as well and it's natural versus having simethicone in it.  Anyone use this?

Thanks

I have always used Mylicon, which seemed to work.  My dr. basically told me that you can't O.D. them on it.  You can basically give her a dose of it every hour if needed.  I think Little Tummy is the Generic Version with the Simethicone in it.

Sorry, I can't help anymore on this.

I used Milicon with no major issues. I think both are good though because I am pretty sure I used Little Tummy for Riley.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I used Mylicon with Matthew at first.  But it never really helped that much.  He still was just as gassy and miserable as ever.  His pedi gave me a prescription for Hyosyne Oral Drops which was a god send.  So if you try the Mylicon or Little Tummy and you don't feel like she is getting any relief I'd ask her pedi about it.  Matthew was around 6 weeks old when I got the prescription but it can be used on babies that weigh as little as 7-1/2 lbs...according to the box.

I have used both and also the generic/store brand equivalent. Personally, I liked Mylicon best. Emad had bad gas issues as well. We would put it in the breastmilk when pumped...usually in his a.m feeding and then in one of the few feedings before bed time. That and switching his bottles, to the Playtex Ventaire really seemed to help. I also would place a warm cloth on his stomach and do a little massage if I could tell he was really agitated.

We used walmart brand mylicon with Alex but can't seem to find it now.  It worked well.  I never tried anything else.

Be careful of natural remedies ie teething tablets / gas drops.  They are not regulated by the FDA as opposed to drugs.

Yeah this colic calm stuff is.

I am not the crunchy granola type girl so that is the only natural remedy I would try on her.  lol

My SIL, my friend and myself have all used Target brand simethicone.  It actually tastes pretty good too LOL  It worked wonders and is way cheaper than Mylicon.
