We going for our first NT scan Monday ( we are actually doing the se****ial scan so there will be a set of three over the next 10 weeks).

I was wondering if you had it done was it 3D or regular ultrasound?

I am sure its one of those things that is varied by the facility and their capabilities.

We are going to one of the best places around Indy to have it done so my fingers are crossed for a 3D.

Thanks!

Kim

My highrisk OB did my NT scan (I had a regular ultrasound every month).  I asked why not 3d?  He told me in the first trimester and part of the 2nd a 3D scan doesn't really show much more.... and sometimes is harder to read.

He said they use 3d at times for viewing organs later in pregnancy if they feel like there is a problem, but not for routine scans and NT scans or anything early.

(I think even the commercial places want you to wait until 28 weeks for a good 3d scan results!)

Good luck!

We always had 2d and the only I got a 3d was when I paid an outside clinic for that. The doctor said its better to see everything in 2d. Weird!!

Each dr. office of course is different; however, if you take a peek at my post earlier today, that was from my high risk OB last week, and she did most of her review of organs, etc in 2-D but did these 3-D ones for me...I couldn't believe how good they look.  So you can get a good look, but my tech was super great and these were top secret photos....to say....

Hope you get to see in 3-D...

Mine was 2D, but the tech had just learned how to do 3D, so she said if I had time, she would do some 3D ones also, then printed me all the pics. It was so cool.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
