Update on us...
I haven't been around because we have been having some issues with little Matty. When he was born they ran the state mandated panel for genetic issues and he came back with a funny result on something called "21 hydroxyprogesterone", but when they ran the test again he came back at the high end of normal and never showed any sysmptoms of the syndrome that this indicates (called Salt Wasting CAH), and these symptoms usually show up in the first few weeks of life and are life threatining and can't be ignored.
So lately I have noticed that Matty is always wet, I mean I could wring out EVERY diaper I put on the kid, but I just figured it was because he nurses so much. But at our 4 month appointment Matty had not gained any weight, infact he was 2 ounces lighter then at his three month appointment. BUT Doc thinks it might have something to do with the funny blood test results, and while its rare to not show symptoms earlier it can still happen. It would explain the constant over wetting and some of the spitting up/vomit that happens for unexplained reasons (ie it's been hours since he ate, isn't being shaken up, etc).
At this point she thinks it could be a number of things, and we have decided to go two weeks and do another weight check, since it could be human error (not calibrated scale last appointment, etc). If he has gained an appropriate amount in that time then we will jus****ch his weight closely from a while. If he has lost or stayed the same then we will reevaluate and go from there, but we will most likely run a bunch of blood tests to rule out the hydrolase deficincy and other possible issues and then if they come back ok we will supplement his feedings with cereal and see if that helps (he will be five months old by that time, so close enough to my goal that I won't feel horrible about it), if it does not then we will go with the last straw and supplement with forumal. For now I am keeping a meticulous nursing log, and pumping after every feeding to make sure that he is effecintly emptying the breast.
Other then those issues, he is a super happy baby, such a cuddlebug and lover! He has two teeth though the gums on the bottom, and has been reaching for toys to put in his mouth, which is so cute. When he does get them to his mouth he growls and just looks so happy with himself LOL He is rolling over both ways consistantly, and he talks up a store. He wakes up singing most mornings, which is a much more pleasent way to wake up then screaming (which is what he does in the middle of the night LOL).

Sounds like at least it is something they are watching. At least if they are aware of it, they can monitor it and if necessary-intervene. Hope things go well. He looks good from the pics you have posted! He sure is happy! It is hard to imagine a baby that little with teeth! My 1st 2 kids didn't have teeth til 11 months. I don't expect my 5-month old too either!
I wish you the best with the blood results. Sounds like it isn't too much of a problem or he wouldn't have gotten so far/so good, right?

I hope Matty fattens up nicely in the next few weeks and that maybe (I hope this comes across as meant and not offensive) your breast milk just doesn't have enough calories. It would be hard to phathom that your baby could be sick with something like that when he is so happy. It's good that your dr is being diligent to watch it though.
Keep us posted...I pray everything's OK and he's just a big pee-er.
