Cramps vs contractions

This maybe a silly question, but I guess I am just wondering what Braxton Hicks feel like?  I get these jolts of pain from time to time; mostly when I stand up from laying down (movement too fast) and the last couple of days my cramps have been rough....This is number one for me, so I am not sure what contractions feel like, but I was reading some women get them as early as this week (Start 25 tomorrow)...any thoughts?  Anyone else get cramps about this time?  (I had em pretty good at the beginning)..

Hi Stacey,
BH contractions feel like a tightening around your belly.  I ge the same jolts of pain like you do when I make sudden movements, it's round ligament pain.   I usually get it on my left side but sometimes on the right.

I had what I described as menstrual like cramps at 22 weeks.  When I called the doctor about this, they sent me to labor and delivery to be checked.  I was actually having contractions that they had to stop with medicine.  If the cramps continue please call your doctor. 

My cramps were different from the jabs that you described.  Mine were pretty constant.

It sounds like the jolts of pain is the lovely round ligament pain.  Google it and see if it sounds like what you are experiencing.   The next ****** you have notice how your uterus tightens up.  To me that is exactly what a braxton hicks contraction feels like.     The cramping may be worth calling your OB about.
