Just a Random Question

Ok, so hubby and I were talking earlier today, yes I am only 11 weeks tomorrow, I have not felt movement as of yet (I know it is too early), but we were wondering about when you can feel baby moving and see baby moving from the outside?  Hubby is getting anxious, truthfully so am I and he knows that I will be able to feel it before him (hopefully soon to put my mind at ease).  We were just curious on your experiences.  We also know that everyone is different too.

Thanks for the info

For me.. I was around 20-22weeks when I could REALLY feel Alex moving.  My husband, on the other hand, got kicked in the head the first time he actually felt Alex move.  I think I was closer to 25 weeks  by then.  He was resting his head on my tummy and Alex kicked him.. LOL

With my first pregnancy I felt Hannah kicking around 18 weeks.  I felt flutters a couple of weeks earlier, but I wasn't for sure if it was the baby or gas.    This pregnancy I was about 15 weeks when I felt the first flutters.    I would say somewhere around 20 weeks you should be able to see the baby moving.  Of course it also depends on how much belly fat you have.

Is this your 1st baby? If so, it may be later on for you depending on a number of things.

My first pregnancy, and very overweight, I was 20-22 weeks for first flutters.

My second pregnancy, and after my gastric bypass and significant weight loss, I felt it early at 14 weeks.

My third pregnancy, and after much more weight loss and a panniculectomy of my extra tummy skin, I didn't feel movement until 18 weeks!

Each of these times, it was about 3-4 weeks after orignal flutter that I could actually see my tummy moving and hubby could feel it from the outside. I'm currently 21 1/2 weeks along and this is the first week where I can consistently see my belly changing shape as the baby moves.

Detection of movement depends on a number of things, including the position of your placenta and the baby's position. At your next ultrasound, ask your tech to tell you how your placenta is faced and they should be able to tell you if you can expect early or later movement sensations. Hope that helps!

With my first pregnancy I felt the baby move around 17 weeks, with this pregnancy I felt it around 13 weeks, I thought I was just a crazy person, but no, it's the baby, my ultrasound proved that today. I felt movement and saw movement so I know it's the baby. I've heard if you're overweight you'll feel it later than a thinner woman, but I was over 325 during my first pregnancy and am 265 currently and I felt it really early, so I think it just depends on the person.

I really started to feel the baby move around 18 weeks and Chris felt the baby for the first time at 20 weeks. THat was one good hard kick! Now I can feel it from the outside most days. Can't see it yet though.

Good luck! It is the BEST feeling!
