I had no problem getting pregant with my first son.  He will be three on Friday.  When we decided to try again, I got pregnant the first month trying.  Sadly, I had a very early miscarriage.  After that my cycles were getting a little longer 30-34 days.  I had put about 30 pounds back on.  I had another loss.  Then my doctor suggested clomid just to help us with the timing.  I got pregnant the first cycle on clomid, and baby Gabriel should be here any day.

Good luck.

I have gotten pregnant twice since surgery (I had PCOS pre-op). Both times were without help. The first ended in a very early miscarriage as well. I am really hoping my little bean (actually it's like a small plum this week I guess) is going to stick! We've been trying off and on for 5 years so, I'm really ready!

Good Luck,

Tina

My first son was a surprise baby due to me missing my first two days of birth control pills so I assumed that I was extremely fertile.  When DS was a little over 1 DH and I started to try and have another baby and months went by with no luck.  I got a fertility monitor and determined that I was ovulating very irregularily and very late in my cycle.

So since I knew that no doctor would help me get pg till I lost the weight I decided to go on the path of weight loss surgery.  My approval took 2 years and time flew by.  I finally had surgery in Nov of 2008.

Fast forward to this past summer.  DH and I decided to stop using birth control by my decision.  I was 9 months out from surgery but was certain that it would take me months to get pg and was desperate to have those months under my belt as soon as possible so that I didn't waste too much time.  I did not use a fertility monitor just had intercourse on what would be peak days for a typical person.  Well to my shock I got pg that first try.  Sadly that baby ended up being ectopic and I lost it in August.  So we were advised to not try again for two cycles and at 11 months post op we started to try again.  Surprise pregnant again first try.  I did not expect it at all.

So far so good with this baby it appears to have stuck as I am 14 weeks now.  My intentions were not to get pg before 1 year but honestly never imagined that I could get pg that easy.

I think that you quite possibly could have that same luck that I had.  I have never been diagnosed PCOS but have most of the symptoms.

I am sure you are probably already familiar with it but you should read Taking Charge of your Fertility and there is also fertility friend online.  Those are two great ways of starting to figure out if you are ovulating.

I wish you the best of luck!!   Ellen

I didn't even get to finish losing weight before I got knocked up! lol

In 2008 I had exactly 3 periods and I'm not certain I ovulated then. My PCOS symptoms were pretty bad before WLS. After I lost 30-40lbs my periods regulated and I got pregnant around 6.5-7 months post op.

i was diagnosed with PCOS when i was 21 (6 years ago) and was told no babies for me unless i used medical intervention of some kind, at the time my ovaries had so many cysts that they believed that drilling my ovaries would be my only bet. I didn't have a period for 3 years UNLESS i was on birth control =(
had surgery on feb 12, 2009 and ONE slip of the birth control and BAM, pregnant
(i was on the nuva ring and due to put the ring back in the same week that we lost my fiance's dad to cancer, he at the time lived 50 miles away so we stayed in a hotel nearby for 5 days to attend services and burial and ended up conceiving the night of his wake!) didn't realize i hadn't put it back in because of all the chaos we were going through until i got home!

We like to think of it as a lil gift his dad left behind for us   =)
