Is this appropriate?

My husband and I were talking about our little girl today.

I noted that it was stupid that some rest rooms still do not have baby changing stations.

Then we got to talking, my mother, sister and I used to take my little brother into the women's bathroom when he got older until he was about 9 or 10 because we did NOT want him going into the men's room by himself.

So the question...

If my husband is ever out with our daughter by himself when she was potty trained, is it appropriate for him to take her into the stall in the mens room?  I see little boys and girls in with their mothers, that's a given, but does it work the other way around??

I know we have time to think about this, but it's just something I thought I would throw out there!

Thanks
Karen

Hi Karen,

I don't see a problem with it at all.  And if they are out together it's not like he can ask her to hold it, or have a woman take her into the womens bathroom.

When you gotta go, you gotta go.

Now, I wouldn't be hanging around the urinals with her but take the get in and get out attitude.

Yes.

Hell, Magnus has taken Kaitlin to the bathroom even when I HAVE been there and able to take her myself.  She says she has to go, if he's the closest, he takes her -- period.

thanks!  I was not sure I guess since my mom only ever took us out when we were young.

My husband will take my daughter into the men's room to use the bathroom if she has to go. I think it's completely ok. I won't even allow my daughter to use the stall next to me, I make her use the same one I'm in, so there would be no way I would want him to send her into a public bathroom by herself.

Another great thing is they now have Family bathrooms in alot of stores and malls.  My hubby always takes my girls in Kohls.  If I am with them at Walmart, I take em, because the mens room is gross.  Last time I wasnt with them, he left walmart...drove like 1 mile to kohls so they could go!! Then drove back to Walmart.  LOL I thought that was funny.  I would have just cleaned the stall up good...he said it was "beyond repair"

My husband covers my daughter's eyes when he takes her in- I think it's funny. He was pretty uncomfortable with it at first, but since we don't use daycare and work opposite shifts he didn't want to always stay at home, so he got over it. I don't think she really knows the difference yet- she just goes with one of us to the potty.
