question about anatomy scan

I go for my 20 week ultrasound tomorrow and anatomy scan. I was told to expect to be there 45 min - 1 hour. Is this a "higher strength" ultrasound - All the others have been level 1, this is a level 2. So is it clearer or it is just level 2 because they are scanning for more?

Can't wait to see the baby tomorrow!

Off to google it as well - just always trust the first hand info more

They are looking for more....they check their face, heart, lungs, toes, fingers, kidneys, liver, spinal cord and tons of other stuff.  Finding out the sex is just a bonus.  Good luck!

Just cuz they're looking at more stuff.  That's also why it takes longer.  Have fun...I hope you get a good sonographer who tells you stuff as you go.

How much you wanna bet you go into labor before I do????

I'm really hoping to go in April.  I know my doc will induce any time after 39 weeks but I'm planning to wait it out.  I want to avoid induction if I can.  I really like having things scheduled so it drives me crazy not knowing when it's going to be...argh!

Me too...and I have the feeling that she will be here around 4/15 to 4/28...just a feeling.  But knowing my stubborn baby...she will wait it out til 5/15...LOL.  I don't think my doc induces...I think he just waits you out unless u go 2 wks over....

Either way, it's coming soon!  I can't believe how much faster the time is going now. The first 12 weeks seemed to take 12 years but now it's really speeding up.

yep i know..and I'm not ready...but yet I am...weird, eh?  I still have so MUCH to do...but I can't wait to see her.  I am so in love with her already.  She is such a crazy chick!

yep and its fascinating!  You get to look at the organs so very close up. 

The level 2 is much more in depth.  it was so awesome.  We saw her fingers, toes, heart valves, brain, kidneys, stomach ect... it was so cool, lots of measurement!  Good luck tomo!
