This may be a silly question, but we can breastfeed after RNY right?  I mean, we do get enough nutrition to successfully nurse our babies?

yep - from what I've heard we sure can! There are women on here who have exclusively breastfed for quite a long time

Good Luck

I did.  I had my daughter post op and I sucessfully BF her for 13 months.  She only had formula one time that was when she was born and her blood sugar was low so they gave her 2 oz.  Then I breastfeed right after that.

Good luck!

I am exclusively breastfeeding my 13 day old...he was 5lbs 1oz when born lost to 4lbs 12oz in the hospital...the first doctor's appt he had gained back up to 5lbs and a 1/2 oz...so i believe that we are "successful" so far!

I am also breastfeeding successfully. I just be sure to take my prenatals faithfully and try to make good food choices...but that is just common sense, not because of the rny. Good luck.
