Just introducing myself after lurking about for awhile....
Hi my name is Jen,
I'm almost 8 months post op (5/7/09) and have lost about 128 lbs so far with my heaviest being around 380 or so, I have the baby bug wicked bad and just found out that one of my close friends is pregnant. I'm having a hard time because I have had a miscarriage in December, it was really early and what they call a "chemical pregnancy" but still effects me just the same. i knew it was early to be even thinking of this but in December it was an accident and now I've got babies on the brain....
just wanted to say hi to everyone and thanks for the information!

I understand your position and am so sorry for your loss, but it would be so much better for your baby and you if you waited. Wait until you lose all your excess weight, wait until your body recovers from your weight loss and is healthiest to conceive, carry, nourish, and deliver a healthy baby.
If you get pregnant so early on, the baby will probably be okay - will you, long term to be this childs/childrens mom?
You will conceive again and have beautiful babies. Be patient.

Hi Jenn and welcome to the board. You'll find plenty of women here who have been in your shoes and are eager to lend a shoulder (including myself). A loss, is a loss, is a loss no matter at what stage of pregnancy you were at. You must give yourself time to grieve, heal and get healthy. I hope everything works out for you. Keep us posted.

Hi Jen,
I am about 8 1/2 months out, and I am 9 weeks pregnant right now (unplanned). I just wanted to say that, although I am excited and welcome this baby with open arms, I wish I would have gotten pregnant after I was closer to goal. I still want to lose about 50-60 more lbs, and now that is going to be put on hold until after the baby is born. I am very sorry for your loss. A lot of women get pregnant before they are 1 year post op and have healthy babies. I just wanted to be closer to my weight loss goal is all. Best of luck to you in whatever choice you make.
