dentist
Ok so I have to go to the dentist on Tuesday cuz I keep getting pain off and on in my one tooth... I have a stupid question I asked my OB if I could have Novocaine and she said I can have one kind but not the other does anyone know which is which... I had it written down and either my daughter or the hubby threw it out on me... I had it on my desk. I think it said I could have lidiacane ... Sorry I know my spelling is nutty... Either way I guess I can always call my OB again on Monday if need be. Has anyone had a cavity filled while pregnant? I hope it just has to be filled and not pulled out... thanks to anyone that can help and not correct my grammer... :)
Thanks again
Chrissy
Hey Chrissy!!! I can't remember the name, so I'm no help there, but I do know its the one that they give heart patients b/c it doesn't have norepherine(sp). Just tell the dentist you are pregnant, and the doc says you can have one of the drugs...he/she will know which one. Worst comes to worse, the dentist could call your OB. You should be fine getting your tooth filled or pulled...I had a tooth pulled while pregnant...I just didn't know I was. And b/c I have a slight heart murmur, they gave me the kind that is safe...thats how I know to ask for that one...LOL....
How are the twins? It is twins, right? I'm thinking you are the one that has a girl and a boy. Am I right???? :)

You want the lidocaine/anesthetic with no EPINEPHRINE It may have a different name Lidocaine, novocaine, etc...but NO EPI is very important when you are preggo. Your dentist should know, but not always. Good luck. Oh, I have worked in the dental field for over 20 years and had work done during 3 of my 4 pregnancies too.
thats RIGHT!!!! SHE is RIGHT!!! OMG...I cannot believe I forgot the name!
Awesome on the twins! Thats what I'm hoping for next time...
My little girl is moving around also...like a little maniac. She punched me a minute ago b/c apparently either she hates my singing or the song I was singing. It hurt too!!! :)

I need to have some dental work done on friday and am dreading it. I don't think I'll need pain meds afterwards, but what do you gals take if you need pain relief? I had a cavity filled post op after I had RNY and was surprised I didn't need pain meds afterwards. So who knows. First of all, we are RNY patients and can't take ibuprofen or any NSAID's but we're pg too and can't take it anyways. My hubby has some Lortab left over from his surgery (in the end of Oct) and I might have to take that if I have any pain that is unbearable I guess.
I remember at my checkup a month ago that my dentist told the assistant that he needed to use something different when doing my dental work because I was pg and I think he said lidocaine. I am going to have to lay on my side in the chair when he's doing my work though, he said it'll take a little over an hour and I can't lay on my back that long now that I'm almost in my 3rd trimester! LOL
