Formula is for babies.
... and apparently Lydia, in her five months of time on this planet, has decided that she is a big girl. And big girls really like their solids.
While I adore her strong will and assertivness in communicating her needs (read: screaming in either delight or frustration, blowing rasperries til everything near her is soaked in drool, or growling) I would really love it if she would take a bottle or three a day. I am making my own baby food, and she loooves all of it (does it surprise me that she loves to eat? No.) and her oatmeal. However, she has decided that she much prefers it to her formula, and thus, is taking about 20 ounces a day. Period. I sneak more into her veggies and fruits and cereal, but she is OVER the bottle right now.
What's the deal? Do they all do this? We see the pediatrician and her specialists in two weeks, and I'll ask them, too ... but I have a lot of respect for your opinions and experience!
