Hi!  I'm Leslie.  My husband and I have been married almost 9 years.  We started trying to conceive approx 6 years ago, with a 14 month break after my lap band June 2008.  I've lost 77 lbs, still weighing in at 292.  Just came back off the pill in October.  I am almost 32, dh is 37.  My GYN prefers for me to wait until I weigh in around 200 to get pregnant.  My weight loss has been VERY slow, and I am concerned that I will run out of time.  My mom went through menopause at 37.  So, while I am not on birth control now, I'm not overly obsessed with getting pregnant.  Personally, I would like to be closer to 250.    (thankfully, no health probs except hypothyroidism).  Really I have 2 questions: (1) What would you do if you were me?  (2) I have seen PreSeed mentioned on the board, where do you get this?

Sorry if I have bored you to death.  I post replies occasionally and I know some of you must be wondering who I am and why I was on here!  Congrats to all those baking mamas!

I know the clock ticking feeling very well, but if I were you I'd wait until you got closer to where your doctor would like you.  You went through a lot to have this surgery, I'm sure, and you're going to have to keep up with your little one once he or she gets here.  Being closer to an ideal weight will make that a LOT easier.  It is more difficult to lose weight the further from your surgery you get, for most people at least, and when you're focused on your little one your habits will be more settled and will require less thought if you wait and really get them as part of your lifestyle.  I was 34 when I had my surgery and got pregnant when I was 35.  I had my second child at 38.  Good luck whatever you choose.

I agree with PP.  I would wait till you are closer to your goal weight.

I am 3 years PO, 38 years old and 6 weeks pregnant with my first!  I had an IUD to revent pregnancy and h

I think it helped that I am now healthier than I was even in my early 20's (always been obes/overweight).  Never had regular periods and infact was told in my early 20's that I may need fertility drugs if I ever decided to get pregnant because I did no ovulate regularly.  It seems...Losing more than 220 pounds helps that!

I hope for the best for you and whatever you decide.
