Natural Remedies for hormone imbalance

So I'm looking for a natural remedy for my progesterone deficiency, I found out this is why I am so tired, hungry and cranky.

I have googled and found a few herbal supplements.

* Macafem
* Partridge Berry
* Siberian Ginseng
* Black Cohosh
* Vitex

Has anyone used these? Any luck?

No clue but curious to responses. I have similar issues, very low progesterone and the PCOS and wonder if that is why  I am tired...besides the obvious....2 year old!

I'll be watching for an answer too...and if anyone has any suggestions for low estrogen...I've also got that.

In the meantime, I'll go look at what you mentioned above and see what I can find out.

Yep - I'm here and finally have home internet!  I'm getting  ready to post an 'all about me' update in just a minute - then peak through and update myself on what I've missed in the last 2-3 weeks.  I've peaked in for a minute here and there...but haven't had time to see everyone's updates, etc.

I hope all's well with you and that you and your family (soon to be expanded family!) have a happy and safe new year!

For low estrogen you can take Evening Prim Rose.  If you're trying to get pregnant you have to stop taking it when you o or it can cause a miscarrage.  I was on a natural progesterone cream also, but when I went to the RE he said that there isn't enought in the cream to make a difference.

Thank you.  I happen to have a stash EPO on the boat on its way to me...so I'll check into it.

I have never tried the progesterone cream (I assume you mean the one I've heard others mention that you rub on your thigh or something?), but I initially had a progesterone suppository that was a cream - individual doses in the inserts - that was 8 mg 1x a day of progesterone...and used that during my last pregnancy which still ended in miscarriage...so now they have me on 300 mg a day (100 mg 3x a day) during the 2nd half of my cycle as well as when/if I manage to get pg again...a very significant increase.  The combo is doing the job of increasing the thickness of the uterine lining...I just have to get pg again to see if it helps.

I am part of another message board.  There are a lot of women and a few midwives that take / recommend vitex over there.

God Bless! Jen
