Is it normal to start bleeding a little bit more on day 6. I hemmoraged after birth and the bleeding has been slowing down to almost nothing and then today I woke and was bleeding a little bit more today. Not bad but just a little bit more than the days before.
Thanks Ladies
Jessica

Jessica,

You may be overdoing it a bit.  I suggest sitting down, putting your feet up and putting an icepack on your belly in your uterine region.  The cold from the ice can help slow the bleeding and help the blood vessels constrict.  If you're really worried call the doctor.  If you do rest a while and use the icepack and the bleeding continues to pick-u*****t change at all after a few hours... I would call.  OR if you experience bleeding through a pad in less than 1 hour.

I have bled off and on for the whole time so far. It seems to slow down then pick up heavy again. With my first son though I bled 11 weeks and it was heavy the whole time. I know I have not been sitting much at all for sure. Just rest when you can. :)

As the PP mentioned I had bleeding on and off, some days heavier than normal, and it did depend on how active I was. I was told to watch for large clots, larger than the size of a quarter, or if you are filling up pads really frequently, like more than one an hour, then you should call your OB. Hope that helps.

 Jessica,

Bridget is right on track with her post.  If your bleeding had almost stopped and now it has picked up...that is your tell tail sign that you are over doing it.  This is oh so common as we start to feel better and so we start to try to do more to catch up from not being able to do much for a while...well girly...its time to rest again :)  Take a day or two and lie on the couch and put your feet up and rest...if it doesn't slow...it's time to call the doc.  The PP were right on with the "if you are soaking 1 pad in an hour or less...you need to get to the ER or to your doc immediately"  as that is completely abnormal and you are losing way too much blood if that is going on.

I hope that you are able to rest a little more over the next few days and things turn back around for you!

Take Care and please feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions that you don't feel like putting out in public :)

Hugs to you!

Not sure- I bled for five weeks following delivery- Then because I could not breast feed AF came two days later! Talk about crappy!! It's only been a few days, so I think the bleeding may be normal still. But, take it easy anyway, since I don't recall level of activity really affecting my bleeding, but it may for you!

I found that if I overdid something then my bleeding would either re-start or get heavier the next day.  It even came from the littlest of things like emptying the dishwasher!  I guess all that up/down movement was a bit strenuous.  I bled like that for almost a full 6 weeks.
