Miscarriage??

Sorry for your loss.  I have been there numerous times.  Miscarriage does happen to about 25% of pregnancies, however, many of those are early (some even before the woman knows she is pregnant)  Miscarriages after the heartbeat is seen and those into the 2nd trimester are not as common.  Those usually have another cause, whereas early pregnancy loss can usually be chalked up to chromosomal issues or hormone deficiencies, although some early miscarriage has no specific reason at all.  With a miscarriage as late as you had, I would request some testing be done to see if you can pinpoint a cause.  (more than likely you won't)  But IF there is a cause and you can remedy it for the next pregnancy, then the testing is absolutely worth it.

I had losses at 6, 11.5 and 16wks (after RNY)... and a stillborn at 35wks (before RNY)(cord accident - he had a true knot )  I had some blood clotting tests run after my 16wk miscarriage and there were no definitive answers, but I had 1 test come back slightly abnormal.  They didn't think that it caused my miscarriages, but as a precaution they put me on asprin therapy... and my subsequent pregnancy was successful and I have a wonderful almost 23month old.... and am now 18 wks pregnant again (on asprin therapy).

I don't think your surgery or band had anything to do with your miscarriage...  I do however think it may not be as simple as an average early miscarriage.

I hope this information helps.  Take time to heal... it does get easier.
Hugs

Thank you for all of that information.  I did have a test run by a different doctor that I had completely forgotten about.  She had suggested the baby aspirin.  Man... I wish I had remembered that.  This is my 5th miscarriage... 3rd consecutive.  I have an 8 yr old as you see in the picture.  They are going to do some testing... and I will be going to a Reprodcutive Endocrinologist this time around.  Your story makes me hopeful.  Thank you for that!
