20 month old- Bed Time/Naps??

Hey everyone! I'm curious at what time you put your toddler to bed? How long does your child sleep? How many naps does he/she take during the day?

Zach's bedtime is 8pm and usually he sleeps until about 7:30am. But it always seems that when I'm home and on morning duty he's been getting up between 6-6:45am. Coupled with my pregnancy insomnia.... I'm just exhausted.

I'm wondering if I'm putting him to bed too early? Maybe he's waking up because he's hungry? I tried putting a noise maker in his room last night thinking that my frequent trips to the bathroom during the night were waking him up.... but he woke up at 5:45am this morning.

Also- He gets usually 2 naps a day (especially when myself or my husband are with him all day) So he goes down for a nap at like 10am and sleeps until 12-1pm and then gets another nap around 3pm and sleeps until about 5-5:30pm.

Maybe he's getting too much sleep during the day? Or I'm being selfish and shouldn't expect him to sleep past a certain time? lol.......

Any advice would be appreciated! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!

Daniel is just about the same age.

He and Kaitlin go down between 7:30-8 most nights.  They typically get up between 6:45-7:30 most mornings.

He also is down to one nap most days.  Most of the time, it's one 2-3 hour one around 12-2pm.. sometimes it will be a bit earlier or later, and sometimes will go a bit shorter.  If we get in the car before or after, he will typically take a nap for that time period as well.

Granted Aethyn is only 15 months old...But he pretty much has the same schedule...Goes to bed at 8pm, but wakes up at about 8:30am...Takes a nap from 10:30-12-12:30 and again 3-5ish...Maybe he is sleeping too long for his last nap...maybe bump it up a little...like 2:30-4/4:30...
I know with Aethyn If I keep him up later...he wakes up even earlier....
I hope you get some answers....I am curious also...I am curious as to when they start only having 1 nap a day also...Aethyn wouldn't be able to survive on 1 nap!!  LOL!!
Sorry I don't have much help for you!

Charlotte is just about 2 years now, but she's had her current schedule for several months.  She generally goes to bed between 7 and 7:30pm, and she is up anywhere between 7:30 and 9am.  She sleeps like a trooper at night; the naps are a different story, though.  She never really slept more than an hour at a time.  She used to take one nap but now is just taking one around 1:30pm.  I am lucky if she sleeps more than an hour.  I don't complain though because I am able to get a solid night's sleep virtually every single night.

At one time I wondered if I was putting her to bed too early also because I had read about some people putting their toddlers to bed at 9:30-10pm.  I did some reading, though, and decided we were doing ok with her bedtime... didn't want her getting overly tired.  She tends to sleep very restlessly then.

My daughter wakes up between 7:30am-9am... takes a nap around 1pm-2pm and sleeps 2hrs or better sometimes I have to wake her up or she'll keep sleeping. Then she goes to bed around 8:30pm-9pm... Some days she fights me for the nap but she will go to sleep. She's 21 months. And has always been a good sleeper so I am sure I'm not much help...lol

I would like to say I am jealous!  Laurel dumped her AM nap at 12 months.  Pooh.

At 17 mos she sleeps from 7pm til about 6:30am.  She takes a 2 hour nap during the day.

I think you are kind of lucky he sleeps as much as he does.  Usually kids that age need only 12-14 hours or so total.
