We normally have NO alcohol in the house.....but I made rum - balls for Christmas this year so I have some rum.

Think rum will work?

I'd think alcohol would sting.....  but I've heard others mention this too!

The Hyland's Teething tablets never helped Matthew.  He would take them but would still be in pain.  So I always ended up just giving him tynenol or motrin.

I have been giving him Tylenol at night.... but I hate to give it too often.  I only do it if he seems really miserable.  (Most of the day he's okay)

Thanks!

Poor baby and poor Momma!  Teething is so hard on both of you!   Have you seen the teething ring shaped like a star that vibrates?   Hannah really liked this.  We also used hyland's teething tablets and motrin or tylenol (motrin seems to work better to control her pain).

Teething can make it seem like they have an ear infection.   I think I took Hannah to the ped twice thinking she had an ear infection, but it was just teething.    A lot times she did have an ear infection though.   I never could really tell the difference.   She did tend to run a low grade temp with teething more than she did with the ear infections. Go Figure lol.    All I can say is trust your Mommy instincts on whether you think he needs to be seen or not.

Cooper is such a cutie and growing way too fast!

Elijah can take over a month to cut a tooth.  He's 16 months old and still only has eight teeth.  We have tried ibuprofen, orajel, freezing the tip of a washcloth, Vulli's Sophie the teething Giraffe, Gentle Natures Homeopathic Teething Drops (found at Walgreen's), frozen fruit in fruit net, frozen mini bagels, the Teethifier (great for back teeth) and Baby's Frist Toothbrush (LOVE both of these products from One Step Ahead.  He's a biter and his preferred method--and the one we try to avoid at all costs--is to bite the dog's back, the cats' tails or our shoulders.  DH looks like he has a hickey-giving girlfriend with only eight teeth!
