is this right?!
Just about an hour ago i went to the restroom at work, wiped and there was light pink blood on the tissue, i have had zero spotting up to now (I'm 9w 1 d preggers) and i am not having any real cramping, just discomfort, if that makes any sense. i did feel a tiny gush of what looked like discharge (egg white) and blood after i stood up from the toilet and had to wipe again.
Anyway...i called my Dr right away, and she said that i should go home, rest with my legs up and take Tylenol. She also said that if there was still any bleeding in 2 hours to head over to the urgent care.
Is this right?! should i be waiting? or should i already be at urgent care?!
this is very scary =(
thanks in advance ladies.

Blanca,
I have had some light spotting this pregnancy, about 9 weeks too. It ended up being that my cervix was irritated by something- I hadn't had sex or anything so I wasn't sure what it was. My doctor told me to rest like you and to come in if it got worse or there was cramping. I had a lot of bleeding with my first pregnancy from a placental bleed, so this was much easier to handle. It is really scary. I had some spotting the other day too- If it doesn't get worse, then I would simply rest up- spotting can last on and off for a while too- If a long visit to urgent care will put you at ease, then go, but there's really not much they will be able to do, especially if they don't do an ultrasound there. Maybe call and see if they would do one. I always went in for an extra when I've bled in the past. Good luck! Crossing my fingers that all is well-

I am 8 weeks pregnant, and I also have been spotting alot more with this pregnancy than any of my other 3. I was told last time I was pregnant that if the bleeding is like a period, and you are having cramps then call. I still get freaked out myself. I have pretty much what you are describing, light pink on the tissue, every few days. I just keep telling myself not to freak out, and take it easy.
Ok, I have spotted around this time for every pregnancy I have had (4) and the egg white can be a change in your cervix. Try to relax and get off your feet with them elevated for a day or two and see if that works. Back when I was 17 (first pregnancy) this happened to me and the ER immediately wanted to terminate the pregnancy for whatever reason but my mom whom didn't believe in abortion said nope if the pregnancy isn't meant to be I would miscarry on my own and we went home. I am happy to report that I have/had a healthy 10.9 oz baby girl with no issues and today she is almost 12 years old and very much healthy! It is scary but if you do a lot of research some people still cramp around their normal cycle during their pregnancies. Rest is the key. And some people vaginally discharge differently when they are pregnant some more noticeable than other because I did.
Oh and my last pregnancy I was told it wasn't progressing and that he didn't have a heartbeat, yada yada yada and I should prepare myself for termination. Well I had a huge 11 lb premie ( 4 weeks early) that was really not so healthy because I was barely in my 36th week and because of my weight and the gestational diabetes (by the way my levels were that of a normal non diabetic) they forced me to give birth early. He didn't like the monitors that I was constantly hooked up to and went into hiding. They could see he was doing well via ultrasound but since he was lazy ( he was 22 inches long and I am only 5'1, and had his back to mine and being that big it wasn't far for him to go)!
I just wanted to give you a little words of encouragement.

Some spotting during pregnancy can be normal. I experienced spotting during my pregnancies. Your doctor's advice was on point. If in any event the bleeding changed bright red and it gets heavy do not wait go to the ER asap.
I wish you an uneventful and safe pregnancy.

Thank u all for the encouraging words, I really do hope that this is nothing. Still have some light bleeding so as per dr I am now at the local urgent care, they took me back pretty quickly but I've been waiting back here to be seen for almost half hour lol (expected)
Does anyone have any idea what they can/will be doing for/to me?!? They should know that I won't leave without some assurance that baby is ok! Lol thanks again!
I am guessing that they will do an internal exam to see if your cervix is closed. Then they will probably try and find the heartbeat with a doppler as well which at only 9 weeks is very hit and miss. If you are lucky and they have a sonogram machine hopefully you can get an u/s because that will be the best thing to ease you of your worries.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Oh man - this happened to me with Bella and I FREAKED OUT! It happened around now (9 weeks) during the second trimester, and at 32 weeks (then I went into preterm labor). I am happy to report that she is screaming at me right now in her swing! I have had TONS of egg white discharge this time around (preg #4) - which I thought was weird, but figured every pregnancy is different :)I know it is scary... trust me I know. Keep us posted on how you are doing. I am thinking positive thoughts for you my fellower 9 weeker :)

Unfortunately they wouldn't be able to do anything as early in pregnancy as you are. Sad to say. The blood MAY just be from irritation. I JUST went to the ER tonight for a different reason, but when they did a pelvic, I had blood. Just a little and thank GOD it was NOT coming from my cervix. They don't really DO anything until you're at least 20 weeks. I feel how scared you are. I've been right there with you ALL day.......scared for my unborn baby; for more than one reason.
Now you do have more discharge when you're pregnant. I would just do as your Dr. says. They are giving you the correct information. I know it seems like they aren't doing anything and that they may not care, but honestly, they are doing the right thing..........it just SUCKS!! Big hugs to ya!
