Exercise
How's everyone doing on their exercise? I try to walk everyday for 20 minutes on my lunch break and then on Saturdays I usually walk about 4 to 6 miles. I have to literally talk myself into it because I am so exhausted. I must say though, I feel much better after I actually walk but boy oh boy does it take a lot to keep motivated.
I was thinking about joining a yoga class at our local parents place facility for pregnant woman starting in the 2nd trimester. I have never done yoga before and I need to get a doctor's clearence to join the class. I was also thinking abou****er areobics. I know we aren't supposed to do anything different or start an exercise routine we haven't been doing but my walking really keeps me in shape. I think the yoga class geared specifically for pregnant ladies sounds calm enough for me to try.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has done yoga and how your exercise routine has changed since finding out about being pregnant. I think continuing my usual routine has been my saving grace and will be in the long run.
Happy holidays to all and hope you are feeling well and having a wonderful Tuesday.
I admire your gumption for staying with your exercise! I could sure do better in that department. I was on restricted activity because of some bleeding last month and have had a tough time getting back with it. Anyway, I have done some prenatal yoga. I find it very relaxing. Also, I have chronic back pain and the yoga stretches do really well at relieving some of it. I find it to be a challenging workout too- Muscles I didn't remember having start aching. If you can do a class, that's fantastic! With my work/grad school/3 year old I have stuck with prenatal yoga DVD's bought cheap on amazon, and enjoy doing it when I need it. Good luck!

During my last pregnancy, I walked (which I had been doing but had to cut the time and length because of cramping throughout the pregnancy), started water aerobics (I had to keep a water bottle on hand to drink throughout the class, stop if I was too warm or turning red, etc.--easier to get overheated in a very warm pool), and started a prenatal exercise class run by a physical therapist (LOVED this class). I also did some pilates specifically for pregnancy--that was new too.
